Our experience was horrific. We did not feel our child was safe at all. The neighborhood is crime ridden, with a score of "F"... see this link (http://www.areavibes.com/cocoa-fl/crime/), and has an unsettling amount of registered sex offenders. In a 1 mi radius, 22 are registered.(http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/searchNeighborhood.do;jsessionid=nh0F-AqB-i44A68Ln9mmeJKn). I witnessed, and reported to Director, drug exchanges, and dumpster diving, etc. occurring within sight of parking lot. We had no idea until we started pursuing all the red flags, as we are not from Cocoa. When we dropped our child off, we were required to knock on front door, where eventually someone would answer by poking a head around the door. Our son, and other students were taken in at that point, and was not allowed to go inside, observe as promised, and we could not figure who, if anyone, was doing anything, or what, if so. We felt owner/staff to be manipulative, deceptive, and when I emailed Kathryn to tell her we planned to seek alternative placement, but wished for him to remain until we found something, she dumped him that day without warning. For so many reasons, we can't recommend her, or the school. Please parents, do your research. We are nowhere near the only concerned parents. Research complaints and investigations on all schools/placements. Your child is worth it!!!!! You can call McKay, Gardiner, DOE and request info. as well as FB groups, etc.
One of the day care people is verbally abusive to very small children. I reported her but no changes have been made. We are removing our child from this hurtful environment even though she is not in that class. I would not give even one star but you have to give a rating before you can submit the review.
