The family travels to Florida every year during this time and a stay in Cocoa Beach is always on the list of things to do. We have visited this restaurant for the last 10 years and it is very sad to see just how far it has gone down. The food is OKAY but not great anymore. But the service.....is the worst we have ever experienced. It took 20 minutes just to get drinks and then another 20 minutes for our waitress (or anyone else) to come back and take our order. When they brought the food, they forgot to bring butter for the crab and it was nearly impossible to find anyone to bring us some. By the time we had it, the food was cold. Just pitiful!!! Fortunately, the tip reflected her effort which was basically nothing. We have since found better places to eat with much better food and service. Will not be returning. Take my advice and find another place to eat!
Good food good service. My 95 year old mother was with uu. She used walker and they seated us at the farthest table from the front door.
Poor service and cold food. Our order came out wrong after waiting an hour. Management was rude to several customers.

The first thing I noticed on my visit to this restaurant was the live entertainment. I personally am not one to enjoy live entertainment but I know some people do. But as soon as we walked in the band was playing so loudly that would could barely hear the hostess. When she asked where we would like to be seated she could tell that I was not comfortable with the thought of sitting in the "porch" area where the band was playing. Fortunately they also have a closed in area that is separate from the entertainment and the hostess offered this area as an alternative. We gladly took this suggestion. The food was very good. My wife and I both had fresh seafood and enjoyed what we were served. I will say the amount of food served was somewhat overpriced. We expected a bit more than what we received for the price that we paid. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, just not the value of what we paid for it. Stacy our server, was very attentive and we were pleased with the service. With the use of the separate area away from the entertainment our visit was pleasant and the food was very good. But for a better value, visit the restaurant next door to this one, Florida Seafood. The food, atmosphere and value are superior to the Sunset Café.
My wife and I had a meal at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing and the food was very good. We both had a fish dinner and it was some of the best fish we have had. Red Lobster needs to visit and learn how to prepare seafood. The prices were fair and we'll worth what we were served. My only complaint is against the manager. We came in the be seated and the hostess was away from her station. The manager came up and addressed two individuals who we're turning in applications for employment instead of seating his customers. I won't rate the restaurant poorly for his oversight though. If you are looking for fresh seafood in the Cocoa Beach area, make sure you don't skip Florida Seafood !
My wife and I have dined here several times. This is the place where we go for special occasions and when we have guests in town. The food and service is outstanding! We have never been disappointed.
Because we had no reservation, we were offered the option of eating at the bar. Had I to do it over again, I wouldn't.Though the "cowboy" steak was recommended and the waiter described its preparation in great detail, every single bite of mine was mostly fat. The taste was also bland. So, I gave up one quarter of the way through. The 26 ounces WAS advertised as bone-in. But, take away the bone and fat and there was very little rib eye meat left. The bed of potatoes and other assorted stuff were definitely not exciting. I left hungry. However, the biggest bone of contention for me was the "market price" that turned out to be $67, (twice the price of other entrees) plus a $3 charge for "OPEN FOOD cowboy filet", whatever that was. As I was engrossed in conversation, while ordering and the "cowboy" was recommended, I didn't realize that I wasn't told the price, until I saw the detailed receipt. That's not right in my book.My wife had Newburg, 2 large scallops and 4 medium sized shrimp. She left hungry too, though she did eat all her food.Overall, the "juice was definitely not worth the squeeze".
My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years. Well not anymore. Although the food is excellent, the owners really have no customer service skills, and apparently their own waitress agrees. We ordered 1 Broiled Feast for 2, 1 Burger, 2 fried shrimp platters, 1 Mahi Mahi platter and 1 all you can eat fried & steamed shrimp. While enjoying our meal, we shared some items from the broiled feast and the abundant platters of fried shrimp. Apparently the owner saw us reaching from plate to plate and assumed we were sharing the all you can eat platter. She had the nerve to interrupt our dinner and tell us that sharing was not allowed on the all you can eat platter. After paying our meal, we asked for the owner to come back to our table (I have to say the waitress seemed quite happy to oblige; seems she is fed up with them too). The owner came to our table, along with the cook. We told them we did not appreciate being reminded about the rules of an all you can eat and they had the nerve to tell us that they were tired of being nice and to just pay our bill and leave. Apparently they didn't realize we had already payed our bill which goes to show you how observant they are.Again, the food is great but don't reach across the table - they might be watching you too.
They make the BEST clam strips!Fresh seafood, too.
