First, I used to be a once or twice a week regular when this was North India. I had good experiences there and had high hopes for Elephant Lounge. It's a very pretty space. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and comfortable. The food is confusing, all over the map on style, and above average price. You can get a burger, steak, pasta, and Indian among other things. It wasn't entirely clear what the restaurant was trying to do identify wise. The burger I had was $12. It had a frozen patty that was overcooked to the point of being charcoal tasting. I simply didn't eat it after the first bite. The fries were too greasy and not crist, but at least tasted good. The Naan was average, the spinach and cheese naan was spinach and cheddar, not any Indian cheese varieties. It was basically a naan quesadilla. My wife had prawns in the cashew sauce. It had peanuts and almonds in the sauce, not a cashew in sight. There were 4 of us for lunch and the bill was $76 and some change. Very pricey for really basic stuff for lunch, plus it took an hour and a half to get out of there. The burgers came 15 minutes after the Indian food, and the naan came after everything else. We won't be coming back unless there are some serious changes. We most likely be back when they close in a few months and auction off all the decor.
Phone customer service could use some changing; the girl who answered the phone was not very polite.
The food was so good and service was great. I definitely recommend for everyone to try it at least once. Great tasting food.
The food was amazing, and the service flawless. The full bar offered any and all drinks you could think of.
