I typed a review a few minutes ago and it looks like it didn't go through. Let's do this again. When I was 17 I went to see Dr. Holecek after a referral from a friend of my mother's. I was seeking non-surgical treatment for my scoliosis. Dr. Holecek claimed he could reduce my 55 degree curvature by up to 5-10 degrees through physical therapy. He seemed fine at first. He looked like Mr. Clean. Who wouldn't trust Mr. Clean? The typical weekly appointment would consist of this: he'd come into the room and tell me to change, then leave. He'd come back and correct my posture. He'd lay me on my stomach and use electric shock on my back muscles before massaging. Then to wrap it up he'd tell me about some exercises he wanted me to try with a yoga ball at home. While I got changed he'd take my mother to the back room to talk to her in private like I was an 8-year-old in divorce therapy. By the way, during each appointment he'd insist on talking to me, and he would chastise me in the most condescending kindergarten teacher voice about my "fatalistic attitude" and tell me how to live my life in ways completely unrelated to my spine. Whether any of these treatments or lectures worked, I don't know, because I've had no X-rays done since. But what I'm really here to tell you is this: this guy is way too touchy-feely, even for a physical therapist. he would keep his hand on me for way too long after the therapy was over, have me take off my bra when the exercise did NOT call for it, and work areas of my torso that I'm PRETTY sure don't affect my spine. At first I thought I was just being too sensitive, I'd never been to a physical therapist before. But when I told my mother about my feelings, she said she felt the same way and didn't want me to go anymore. I was disgusted and angry so I didn't want to either. Once I'd said goodbye my mother let me in on something he told her one of the times he took her to the back room. He told her something along the lines of "you need to have a mother-daughter talk with her about mast*rbation." He went on to detail her about how my lack of s*x was stressing me out and affecting my spine and "attitude." Soooo to sum all of this up, Dr. Holecek makes promises he can't keep, volunteers himself as your spiritual life coach, and likes to think about how the top less 17-year-old in front of him should mast*rbate more. And to deceive his victims he presumes to exploit the gentle visage of Mr. Clean. In all seriousness, I'm just grateful that my mother was in the room with me for every appointment. 1 star isn't low enough.
