Rude

I too spoke with Carrie when I called to schedule an appointment after being referred to them by the ER. I had 6 kidney stones and needed surgery, as they were too large to pass. After being shuffeled around, I spoke to Carrie, she informed me that they did not accept my insurance. I explained that they were, in fact, listed in my provider directory, and she said well its wrong. I then said, so thats it? and she said thats it! and then she hung up the phone on me. There was a better way to handle that situation and she did not handle it professionally. Her attitude was degrading and insulting. She was very short... giving 1 word answers and then hung up on me. I would never reccommend this office to anyone!

Very Unprofessional staff

I called them today to make an appointment for my grandfather, who has bladder cancer and is a regular patient of Dr. Sloan. My mother ask me to call because she said that because he cancelled his last appointment, they sent him a letter and released him as a patient. Therefore, I called them to make his appointment, as she had ask me to. When I told them who needed an appointment, they did not mention the letter, so neither did I. I then told them that he was having severe pain in his lower abdomen and crying when he urinates, she said they could see him October 1st! That being over a month away, was obviously, unacceptable. I proceeded to explain to her that he believes his cancer is back, she puts me on hold again, then someone else comes to the phone, and here is how the conversation went.



Office: I need to speak to Mr. _____



Me: Ok, well he's 88 years old and cant hear very well.. so he doesn't usually talk on the phone.



Office: Who are you?



Me: His granddaughter



Office: I need to speak to him.



Me: Ok. So you need more information about his condition?



Office: I need to speak to him.



Me: Right, I understand that! But as I said before, he doesn't talk on the phone and never makes his appointments, we

make them for him. So, are you needing more information about his condition? because I can have my mother call you, she is his legal care-taker.



Office: I need to speak to him.



Me: Wow! Ok, What is your name?



Office: Carrie



Me: Ok, I will have my mother call you.



Now was that rude or what? My mom calls Carrie, and she says she needs to talk to the patient. Well my mom explains that he is unavailable, and she said again, I need to speak to him. She then says that my mother's name was not on the list, and my mother explains that she is his Power of Attorney, and she said she needs to see proof. Keep in mind that my mother has always made his appointments, she is listed as a contact person, and her name is ON THE LIST! So, she will visit them in the morning with a copy of the document to prove that she is "On the LIST" because they refused to make an appointment and refused to speak to her any further. So, do yourself a favor and call someone else.



LET ME JUST TELL YOU THE DOCTOR and HIS NURSE IS EXTREMELY NICE! HOwever, the people that runs his office is hurting his business! So, Dr. Sloan, if you are reading this, please do something about your office personel, they are ruining your reputation.
