        Richard Levine, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and surgeon, and Medical Director of the Cliffside Laser Eye and Cataract Center in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. Since graduating with highest academic honors as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, he received his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and ophthalmology training at the University of Pennsylvania Eye Institute. Dr. Levine has been in private practice for 25 years and has been recognized as an expert and innovator in cataract surgery. He was among the first doctors in the New York area to perform refractive cataract surgery and the multifocal lens implant procedure, one of the first in the nation to perform ‘MIGS” (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), and is one of the New York area’s most experienced LASIK specialists. He’s established the Cliffside Laser Eye and Cataract Center to provide state-of-the-art medical and surgical therapy for correcting vision, in a friendly, inviting, patient-centric practice. Dr. Levine supervises a staff that performs more than 8,000 patient visits, and 3,000 eye surgeries annually. As a featured cataract and LASIK specialist, he’s appeared on the MDTV Medical News TV Network, local affiliates of CBS, NBC, and was named one of “America’s Top Doctors” by Consumer Health Magazine. He has performed charitable surgical missions twice to Sinaloa Province, Mexico, and this past year to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.         Stay away from this crook

        I went to this Richard Levine for a general Eye checkup as I have glasses and my annual check up was due. The office is really good as there are a couple of big flat screen tvs around his waiting area. I arrived on time and they took me in first to see his secretary, she checked my number on the computer and told me the change in my eye glass prescription. After that I was sent into an exam room full of information about Laser Eye Surgery which this Crook Levine wants to sell. I guess he paid a lot of money for his machinery. He does not even examine my eyes and tells me that I will be a great candidate for Laser Eye surgery. He spends about 2 mins on that then gets a phone call from someone and speaks on the phone for about 5-6 mins. After coming back from his IMPORTANT PHONE CALL, he tells me how he has been doing Laser Surgeries for the past couple of years and how great he is and how he has had 100% success. He then tells me that he is going to ask me to speak to another secretary about the billing options about and costs for doing lasers for him. He tells me he does the surgeries here at the Cliffside Park office. I ask him if he plans to check my eyes as my prescription has been rising over the years. He takes a look at my eyes with a yellow lens for actually 5 seconds and tells me that everything looks okay. The lady then comes up with $$$ for the surgery and she tells me that the surgery is done some place else in Central or South NJ.



        This guy is a total crook inspite of his qualifications. Stay away.



        Guess what, he not only bills my insurance company for general eye exam which he didnt do, he then bills me for a retinal exam. Stupid Levine, the last time I checked Retina was a part of the Eye, you IDIOT!!!
