During this time of economic distress our country and 90% of companies are going through, it is amazing to me that any company employee or owner would not be gracious when a potential customer calls inquiring about the types of products available in their store. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone at this business was impatient with my simple questions, ask me in a rude, harsh tone, "Just what you are looking for" when asked what sewing machine brands were available in the store (I finally discovered there were perhaps three brands available). He told me Walmart had a nice selection???? What a sales technique! He was also very anxious for me to hang up and leave him alone. I spoke to him a total of perhaps 3 minutes and in that time, he succeeded in making me feel like this store did not need my money, my questions were useless and my calling was a waste of his time. I am a supervisor in a successful service business. I spend quite a lot of time on the phone with customers, helping solve their problems and encouraging them to use our service. In my opinion, there is no excuse for such rudeness during a business phone call with a potential customer. If this gentleman was not the store owner, then his employer no doubt wonders why business is off. I know why.
