I understand that Charter Steel is bringing in new jobs to the area and making plans to expand their facility in Cuyahoga Heights, and I am grateful for this; however, we need you take action to eliminate the excessive noise coming from that facility. Your buildings are only two-tenths of a mile from our homes and all your doors and windows open towards us and not Cuyahoga Heights … we get all your noise not them.Newburgh Heights has historically been a quiet neighborhood in which to live; however, the character, and quality of life in Newburgh Heights has changed drastically since Charter Steel opened the Facility. The quiet is gone; and with it much of the fiber that tightly bound the Village together. The excessive noise has not only negatively impacted the quality of life in Newburgh Heights, but it has also negatively affected the property values therein. No one wants to live in an area in which you need to put up with constant noise.Summer is coming and we would like to open the windows in our homes without the constant noises. We would like to sit in our yards and on our porches with out the constant noises. We would like to get a good night sleep without the constant noise. Without a good night sleep our day at work or school can be affected. Our dog and/or our neighbors dogs are irritated by the noises which makes them bark and howl!Charter Manufacturing has made the following statement on their web page: “Our commitment to the community is evidenced by our leadership in developing processes that protect the environment.” We are asking you to protect our environment by putting a stop to the excessive noises emanated by your Facility in Cuyahoga, Heights.
