Total lack of care for patients. The staff in PT was wonderful. The facility was clean. That’s where the good reviews end. Mom arrived on Mon for rehab. She started to get fluids in legs. By Thurs., her legs were huge. I asked for water pills. They started them on Fri. a.m., at min. dose. Sat. noon, I asked for a nurse. I told her to look at moms legs. I had to tell her to pull her socks down to look at her feet. She said she’d try texting the dr. but he’s not very responsive on weekends. He said he’d run tests on Mon. I asked for a recliner chair for bedsore but was told they were all being used. At 12 I told them her colostomy bag needed changing. she asked 3 x that day. At 11 pm, the aide said it looked ok; that the day shift will do it. Sun. a.m. it was leaking all over her. Sat. they put her in bed at 7:30 & never got her up for 18 hrs. Aides said they were short staffed. She asked if she could walk. They told her no, that they were busy & they weren’t allowed to, that PT was the only one to do that.Next day her dr. said with 40 lbs of fluids she should go right to the ER. The nurse refused so I had to ask for a release. At 11:30 am I was told it would be 2 hrs for transport. At 2 I was told it would still be a while. At 4 it would be another 2 hours. She was sitting in the wheelchair all that time. I told them she needed to go NOW. In 15 min. an ambulance took her. All day long I’d been telling them that I was pulling her from this home and she would NOT be returning. I said that I wanted all her clothes sent with her. The floor nurse was rude and snippy. Each time I asked, she said they would NOT send her clothes with her until she was actually admitted into the hospital! I finally called admitting. She was very nice and said she’d get her clothes send with her. Next I find out that they never sent the clothes with her, so I had to make a special trip to pick them up at 11 pm

I am very happy with the staff and feel that the therapy department is good and has helped me. I would definitely recommend this facility.
I found the staff always greeting me when they pass me. I found the room I had clean and serviced everyday. I also found the nursing staff pleasant and willing to assist me for the duration of my stay. The food was good, a little small portioned sometimes, but then I realized the kitched was following schedule. I have been to different assisted living locations in the area and this one should be a grade A.
Currently they have scabies and health department is coming in. Before that they were putting my grandmother in depends simply because the staff was to lazy to come help her to bathroom when she called.
I think this place is one of the worst nursing homes and no wonder why they don't allow you to leave reviews on this page. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever!! My Grandma was there until her last days and I regretted every choosing this place. Please don't waste your time! Check into other places if you want your loved ones truly cared for in the right way!!! And to make things even worse you have to watch the nurses who think its OK to steal from their patients. Sad sad place
once office people leave there is no one to answer. Weekend office staff member is their 4 hours and gone. Nurses are busy and told to watch 3rd shift. Mom called home complaining had call light on for1 1/2 hrs needed changed. I came in surprising aides in tv room several times.mmom
This company is in major need of do better. Between the nasty attitude of the staff and what seems to be a lack of a boss, it's crazy. Came to check the place out but quickly was turned off. It just doesn't seem to be what the sign out side the door claims. And the poor staff don't look happy to walk in or out the place. Does anyone know a good all around agency?
Stay away!! The administration are unethical and unprofessional. They tried to double bill for physical therapy, that is bill Medicare and then have us pay privately as well. They tried to bill us for days my mother was not there and they tried to hide the fact that if you use their pharmacy you pay much, much more than Walgreens or Walmart for copays. The first 5 days they made my mother sit in a wheelchair even though she does not use one and would not let her go to the bathroom on her own. When she would press the call button they would not come and would make her urinate herself and she was demoralized. The therapy department are inept. They do not have phones, email, no communication and do not return phone calls. Just stay away.
Many years of living can take it toll on a human body. That is where therapy can help, not to remake, but to rejuvenate and help heal the wear and tear. That’s what I experienced at Southern Hills. There were demands I had to meet, some I didn't realize until completed. The staff was helpful, yet demanding. I honestly feel better and stronger as a result of all my therapy at Southern Hills.
As for the nurses and nursing assistants I think they have been extremely nice and courteous in my complete stay!! The therapy department has shown me ways to come back to be able to go home and things that I will help me at home plus some small exercises to help me complete my come back to the best of my abilities! The complete therapy staff has been kind and courteous and successful to get me to understand the progress to my recovery in the right way.
