I think people need to get away from the big chain pizza joints. They're too commercial, robotic and inconsistant. When you deal with a mom and pop shop like Carmino's (serving old brooklyn since 1965), you get the full experience. When you walk-in to pick up your order.... your greeted with a respectful "Hello, how are you". Your order is quickly attended and ready to go. The dough is the same cause it's made fresh EVERY DAY, the sauce is made fresh EVERY DAY and they cut their cheese fresh EVERY DAY (100% provolone, no fillers). Alot of the big chains use frozen pre-prepped items, eventhough they claim they don't cause they have the big money commercials to steer you to believe it. Carmino's is the best italian-american pizza you'll ever have. Some may say that the dough is too soft or the cheese isn't stringy enough. That's because it's not supposed to be the cardboard texture or the plastic-like preservitive filled uniform pizza you see on t.v, If your pizza doesn't have some grease on it, it's not real pizza. Hello!! Pepperoni and sausage have fat. Try the real stuff a couple times and you'll see what i mean. My favorite is the pepperoni and mild peppers pizza. Try the garlic butter sauce too. It's homemade too.....literally. I won't get my pizzas anywhere else. After you've been a customer a few times, they remember you as soon as your name pops up when you place your order. They will thank you for calling and already have you think about what to try next on the menu. That's a real family business.
This was our first time at Danny's. We are new to the area from Connecticut where there are many fine pizza establishments. The sauce was good and the pizza was excellent. Nice crispy but not overdone crust, sauce was claimed to be home made and I'm a believer. It definitely wasn't poured out of a can onto the pizza. The goodies were plenty. We had a pepperoni and cheese and a meat lovers pizza which were excellent. I got there a couple of minutes early and noticed the cook dabbing up the grease (which is to be expected) on the meat lovers pizza. When I got home and we devoured the pizza it was the climax to our pizza adventure. The pizza was better than it smelled. The bottom line is thumbs up and 5 stars. We've found our local pizzeria. Oh, and the price...back in Connecticut I would have paid as much for one of the pizzas as I did at Danny's. Support this place and you'll be rewarded with some fine pizza.
I believe the "snowplower" comment, belongs to the same young man that used to deliver pizza for Danny's, and got FIRED for STILLING MONEY from this place. He used to advertise his own business (landscaping & snow removal), while working for this place, by submitting his business flyers to the customers that were ordering pizza for delivery. It's just not fair for those hard working people! They've been there for over 37 yrs., and I've been a faithful customer for over 20 yrs! I love their pizza, it's simply THE BEST! I believe the "snowplower's" guy (Derek) business name is..."E Z Landscaping", and he should be ashamed for what he had been done!! Regards, Criss D.
My grandparents have been taking me to Gallucci's since I was a toddler. I remember going to the location where Progressive Field now sits. They are now located on the new Euclid corridor close to E. 55th St. or use the bat cave entrance off of Carnegie. They have such a great selection of Italian food. Whether you need ingredients for grandma's Italian recipes or want to take it easy and let them do the cooking for you. Gallucci's is the right choice for finding all that you need. Also, there extensive wine collection will complement and add to any dinner or event you are putting together
Love Dewey's Pizza! There are a LOT of places to eat in Cleveland Heights and a LOT of them are on Lee Road. Dewey's is always a safe bet. Yes, it's mostly pizza and salad but the variety of toppings on the pizza is 5 times what most other pizza places offer. And, the ingredients are fresh. A manager once told me they do NOT even have a freezer because everything is fresh - nothing frozen. If you want plain cheese pizza you might as well go to a cheap place. If you want a great meal that happens to be served in the form of a pizza - try Dewey's.
When I say "THE BEST OF THE BEST", I really mean it! For the past 11 yrs., We've been coming from Italy to stay in Cleveland for the summer (2-3mo) every year. The first year, we tried them all, I mean ALL of them in Cleveland, and around, until we discover Nunzio's! Not only this pizza, taste just like my grandma's back at home, but is absolutely delicious & addictive! When we are here, we eat this pizza every 2-3 days, and never get tired . Thank you Nunzio's, and Thank you Cleveland!! Angelo & Family.
I ordered a big square deal for 6.99 and added the old world pepperoni x2. It arrived super hot in under 30 minutes. The young lady that took my order was great & the pizza was one of the best I have had in years. I always seem to look for the non franchise mom and pop places, but this Marcos is superior!!! I have found my new pizza place. I called and spoke to the manager, Karen, to let her know how great her team is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO EVERYONE!!! UNREAL all the way around. THANK YOU!!!
I was first introduce to Hapyys by my children. One summer day they came into the house and said Mommy a pizza truck just came down our street. They were giving out samples and menus. Later that day I go to work about 7 of my co-workers and my self where hungry , one asked any body know where we could send out @ I say I just got these menus today my kids said the samples where good. And we ordeded and have been returning customers since I even have it delivered to my front door. Happys is great!
When you live in the Parma/Middleburg Heights area, you have A TON of options when it comes to pizza. there's literally a pizza place or two on every block. Jet's Pizza takes the cake, or I suppose the pizza in this case. Their pizza is super flavorful and always crispy and fresh. they have perfected the rectangular, pizzeria-style pizza. Also, give their jalapeno cheese shot a chance if you're feeling a little adventurous - I really like it. 5 stars for this pizza chain!
Angela Mia is the best "true" Italian pizza you can eat-real cheese, real italian sausages, and the best pizza sauce! They have been in business for over 30+ years, in the same location, same and new clientele every year. People from all walks of life and geographic locations come and order Angela Mia pizza. Their pizza is so good that their business establishment don't have to deliver nor accept credit cards in this 21st century. Now, what does that tell you.
