Overall
cheap rental, nice location, quick maintenance response, but worst move-out experience

If you don't expect much (or even none) of your security deposit back, I would highly recommend FPM apartments to you because of the following reasons: 1. cheap rental. My previous apt in Clemson was about the same size as my friend's apt in Central, but I paid about $450/month while my friend pays around $600. 2. nice location. I used to live in an apartment that is within walking distance to Clemson campus. It's also on the red route of CATBUS (this could save you tons of trouble fighting for a parking space on campus during rush hour). 3. quick response. I stayed in the apartment for two years. Whenever I called, they would sent someone over within one or two business days.
However, if you do expect to get your full (or much) security deposit back, don't rent from them. Nobody can get 100% back b/c THEY ASK YOU TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANING COMPANY to clean your carpet (sorry, honey, you can't clean it yourself) and they want a RECEIPT. Before you move out, you will receive a letter from FPM with a long list of items that you should clean, change (light bulbs, air conditioner filter, etc), and pay (e.g. carpet cleaning services charge fifty bucks to over a hundred). I only got about 21% of my security deposit back, despite the fact that I cleaned my apt for two days, with the help of three friends. Btw, I am a very neat person, and all my friends were surprised to learn that I was charged for ""very dirty."" Besides, FPM only showed the apt once and it was immediately rented.

Dont Rent From These People

If you can prevent, do not rent; terrible customer service, they steal your security deposit with fees for stuff that never even existed or was broken before you rent from them, complete disregard for maintenance requests, they do not even have an e-mail address

RUN AWAY!!!!

Realitor will not return your phone calls (esp. Lavonne Foster). Not prompt service for break downs. I was left in the middle of a snow storm with a broken heater and was offered two small (less than one foot in combined length) space heaters to heat my apartment. My apartment flooded due to a split washer hose and I had to argue for over a month to be reimbursed for the water bill and was originally told I would have to pay for it. The contractors that came in to fix the leak broke one of my dressers and property manager Foster REFUSED to replace it, stating that it was my responsibility even though I had nothing to do with selecting the contractors. When I went to move out I was charged for things that I listed on the move in/move out as being wrong (ie-I listed a window as being cracked but was still charged), and I was also charged for not having blinds in one room, despite the fact that NO rooms had blinds in them when I moved in and I purchased and left them for all but that one room. When I tried to contact the property manager about issues I was constantly disrespected and talked down to. However, do not expect a response unless you go down to the office in person. I attempted to call about the deposit issue and ended up calling 5 times a day with no resonse or call back. I also did not receive prompt call backs about when my apartment flooded. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE if you value your sanity and money.
