We lived in Winston-Salem for years and enjoyed the love and care Carolina Pet Place provided to our dog, Nora. This Christmas we have booked time at CPP even though it's 5 hours from our home. Turns out CPP is located in the perfect place for our holiday travel plans! We are so excited to know (already) that Nora will be well taken care of this Christmas!

Our dogs (the ""girls"") are always excited to go visit Carolina Pet Place. We used to board them at another location, and one would become aggressive and the other very timid. I would have to drag both of them back to the kennel. This was NOT our experience at Carolina Pet Place. They scamper back to the kennel with licks and kisses for the staff. I firmly believe my pets are being well cared-for, otherwise they would put up an opposition.
I will say that the staff is rather perfunctory, but they do their job well. They have never been rude or unreasonable in the three years the girls have been visiting.

I first used Carolina Pet Place at the recommendation of my veterinarian. I am so glad I did. The staff is friendly and always gives me a full report upon check-out. My animals (cat & dog) come back to me happy and healthy which makes me happy! I have not had the same wonderful experience at other ""higher end"" places. They always cater to special dietary needs. Their pricing is very comprable to other kennels in the area. You do have to pay seperately for most things, but they have packages if you ask- so ask! We also love the groomer here. We have had much trouble getting our Airedale groomed correctly and this is the first place that got it right without sending our dog home traumatized! We have been going to Carolina Pet Place for over 2 years now and plan to continue!!!

Our experience with boarding here was positive. The staff was kind, (two ladies helped us), and seemed interested in our pet. We toured the facility prior to leaving and it was clean and the boarding areas were larger than we had seen elsewhere. I think the owner showed us around. He was pretty matter of fact about things and that may bother some clients. We used them during the holidays and it was pretty busy.
They gave us a Boarding Report Card upon check-out that had things regarding diet, attitude of our pet and how they felt he did during the stay. It was a nice touch.

I was not satisfied at all with my pet's stay, and many others can tell you the same.
The staff was very rude and my animal was not given the proper care. I found him to be dehydrated when he returned home. I was never contacted about his lack of water intake had it been my dog neglecting his bowl.
Also, you must pay extra for all additional services such as walks and play time, which other kennels will do no matter what. There's no possible way of knowing whether or not they are actually performing such activities anyway, whereas some other kennels that I have boarded at will have staff playing with animals when you drive up to them.
Bottom line, find someplace better that actually cares for your pet. Quite frankly there's nothing that the owner can really say except to say what is listed on his website. It just shows that he doesn't really take to heart is own profession.

I might have been born yesterday, but I stayed up late last night studying.
Avoid this sham if you love your pets is our advice based upon our experience.
To us the staff seemed aloof and very unfriendly, especially the owners.
The pets must use a room with a concrete floor for waste elimination.
They say they walk the dogs twice a day , which by the way they charge for even though they are closed on Sundays and at noon on Saturdays. They also charge for walking twice a day on the day of pickup even though an AM pickup is done.
We took a weeks' worth of food prepared at our home for both of our dogs, when we picked them up 3 days later, there was no food left and both were starving. no explanation there either. WE WON'T BE BACK! (Although I don't think that they would care .)
