        Ive gone 8 years without stepping into a Lowes or Home Depot. I don't plan to ever return to either. Ace Hardware is a Godsend. They are faster than the aforementioned two, they have a better selection usually, and they have never let me down. They also are cheaper, and usually sell better quality products than the other two. I own a plumbing company, and I will install most of their plumbing, wheras Lowes, HECK NO. You get what you pay for. Either shop local for a specialist or hit Ace. You are far better off either way than the big box garbage. The one star rating thius store had is just unfair.

        I took a Mantis tiller to be tuned up and new blades installed. I picked it up and paid a $69.00 repair bill. When I got home it would not idle and there just happened to be a friend who is a mechanic at my house. He found the problem immediately; the gas line tube they replaced was cut to short and the engine was not getting gas. My friend told me to just get a longer gas line tube and he took the gas line tube off and I took it with me to Ace to get a longer tube. They said I should have brought the Mantis back but I am an 81 old woman and it's hard to lift it into my car plus I'm sure it would mean leaving it at the shop for no telling how long and I wanted to give it to my grandson on his birthday which is today. They cut a piece of tube about 8 inches long and charged me $1.35 for it. To charge me for something they did wrong is a very poor way of doing business. Beware of their repair shop. I will not be shopping there any more.

        Excellent variety of inventory and truly warm and helpful staff. I will aways shop here before heading down the street to Lowe's. This is the way a hardware store is supposed to look and feel.
