Namaste! As a vegan of almost 2 years, I instantly decided to become RAW vegan after tasting the delicious raw vegan cuisine at Cousin's Incredible Vitality in Chicago. Being a suburban girl at heart, I was happy that Cousin's I.V. was so easy to get to since it's just past I-90 heading east on Irving Park Rd. toward Lakeview. If you have never experienced a raw vegan meal, this is the perfect restaurant to visit! If you enjoy a casual yet elegant dining environment, this is the place for you! And let me tell you, the food really is INCREDIBLE! The variety of the menu is absolutely spectacular and the fresh living food choices are outstanding! (Even the water is healthy here because it alkaline and ionized.) Cousin's I.V. is open 7 days a week (11am-10pm) and the $7.95 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet (11am-2:30pm) is delicious and really is an excellent price for the variety and amount. I love the Mediterranean Pasta which has zucchini and sweet potato noodles with a delightful marinara sauce. There is also an organic juice bar where you can order yummy smoothies such as the Cleansing Cocktail which has fresh ginger, apple, celery, beet, orange and cayenne or specialty drinks like the amazing Coco-Latte which has longevity tea, maca, cacao powder, agave, and cinnamon. Cousin's I.V. also offers incredible teas and healing elixirs which promote wellness. Chef Mehmet told me that his goal is to "nourish at a cellular level where nutrients, flavors and the true benefits and spirit of the food resonate and assimilate," and he always says that the key ingredients in his food are "LOVE & GRATITUDE!" After my raw vegan dining experience at Cousin's Incredible Vitality, I felt SO good and I know that you will feel so incredibly amazing too! Peace & Wellness!
I had a great experience here! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I've been a vegetarian for 10 years but I'd never had raw food before today - it was excellent! It makes me sad to see the negative reviews, but I am going to chalk it up to their warped expectations of a raw food establishment. The food was awesome. It was very Mediterranean inspired, at least at the salad bar, which is what I tried. The second super nice lady that helped me gave me a take out tray that I filled with little samples of every dish (AND a free cup of soup to try!). Wow. When I got home and tried everything, I was thinking about trying their month long carry out program and I still am. I didn't get sick, and in fact, I feel pretty satisfied! Concerning the service, again, I didn't dine in, but this place has a real European feel to it, and if you've been to Europe, your cooks and servers aren't going to jump when you snap your fingers. Think about it, they're taking the time to serve you the purest of food, so relax and enjoy yourself. I will gladly exercise my patience to be the recipient of a great meal. I love this place! In a city that prides itself on pizza that feels like a ton of bricks and other various processed meats, it is about time!!!
I have gone here for breakfast with the family and dinner. I enjoy both. Usually I go for dinner, so what I would recommend is their sirloin steak with grilled onions. As a dinner you get everything. The steak is huge and could probably be eaten in two meals (unless your a heavy eater like me). I like my steak rare, and let me tell you, let your fries soak up the blood and it will taste great. The people are super nice there, I haven't had any bad experiences. Though there hasn't been anything I didn't like at Sally's, you have to try their soup. I like the cream soups and their chicken noodle. It all taste good. I haven't tried it yet but they have some huge desert sundaes that I've seen before. There are three of them but the only two I can remember are the Sears Tower and the John Hancock. If you ever try one, I would say for you yo eat it with 2 or 3 other people and also, put a review up so the rest of the world knows how it is. And lastly, the prices are pretty reasonable. For my usual steak that takes up a whole huge plate, it's $8.75.
I have been coming here for about 7 or 8 years and have found the service and the food to be consistently very good. The best part about Lalo's for me are that I can bring my three kids--all of whom, including my 2 year old, love the food here--and never feel uncomfortable or as if I'm putting someone out because they are disturbing other diners. The noise level is pretty loud here, especially on nights (fri, sat & sun, I think) that they have a live Mariachi group--another huge plus and ambience booster...but it is never so loud that I can't carry on a conversation with everyone at the table. The food is quite good, as well-- we're not talking gourmet Mexican food, here, but we never leave there hungry... check it out!
Appetizers are in good range like the $7, affordable and tastier too... and Pescado fish food $18 has a lot of omega 3 vitamins... gives you more stamina, are they serving good food? No they are not. Why? Cuz they serve the best food. Forgot to mention something special here, the Mole De Olla was at its best. Dont forget to try it when u get there. The flavors of the curries taste so authentic and fresh. The Jalapeos Rellenos de Queso Capeados are a must have and come out in a way we have never seen before. Still Salpicon is my favorite restaurant. Every time I go, I just want to come up with different taste and varieties. Its always fantastic.
They have got a new very significant variety of various meats along with sea food seviche, which in turn My spouse and i tried out - these folks were wonderful. My spouse and i didn't tried out your Salbutes nevertheless from your seems to be plus the means people ended up savoring the idea, My spouse and i are arranging to return pertaining to evening meal in our wedding ceremony along with check out these people out and about. Assistance ended up being variety in my opinion. Scrumptious foodstuff, reasonably priced price tag, by simply lunch break gone greater throughout the two along with good quality along with charge clever.
The foods in this restaurant are worth the price and there are far better dining experiences to be had in Salpicon. It was a great choice and great value, which was the most enjoyable part of our night. My first impression was, amazing. The service was very friendly and fast. However, the veg-food came in small dish and quality was worth the money. Are you looking for a place with great ambiance this is the right venue. Me and my gf had an awesome chat, after a long time... The service was very friendly and fast. However, the veg-food came in small dish and quality was worth the money.
It's a modest family-run restaurant in the West Rogers Park area. Those who eat only Halal meat will love it since everything is Zabiha Halal. Prices are pretty decent as well. It's the only decent restaurant around Touhy open after 9pm, and there's so much to choose from. My favorite are the noodles with chicken, and my friends love the sate kambig (lamb kabobs, basically). One of my Indonesian friends tried the food and recommended it highly, said it reminded him of home. Sometimes I eat in, other times I carry out using their online menu: http://www.anginmamirichicago.com/
We still talk about it 6 months after we went there. Person who likes to try different kinds of appetizers will love this place for sure. Food was reasonable, atmosphere was good and the staffs were friendly enough to sustain us. All of us loved it; we had a wonderful dining which was enjoyable as well as unforgettable. I lost my face but the manager was polite enough to let me pay, on my next visit. A manager recognizing all the customers is not something you get at a regular restaurant. Besides their best service, the ambience is not something that can be forgotten.
Service was kind to me. Tasty food, affordable price, by lunch went better in both and quality and cost wise. . I was wary about the list of tequilas but the waiters knew how to deal with it. Iﾒll have already decided to have a get together with my friends at this place. We most certainly will return and will be telling all of our friends of an wonderful experience. The food was unbelievable, like the decor and ambience. By far the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in Chicago.
