Primary Care
Dr. Blake enjoys primary care and emphasizing preventative medicine through patient education. The best part of her job is the patient interaction and relationships that develop between doctors and their patients.
Family Practice
Dr. Edwards received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science at Florida State University. She participated in the Bridge Post-Baccalaureate Program and then went on to earn her Doctorate of Medicine at the FSU College of Medicine. She completed her Residency at the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program.
Emergency Care
Shana most enjoys the relationships she has built in primary care. After spending many years in the emergency department, she never imagined enjoying anything as much as emergency medicine. “The joy these patients bring me is indescribable!”
Electrocardiogram
Electrocardiography - an electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart. An EKG shows the heart's electrical activity as line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the tracings are called waves.
Immunizations

Internal Medicine
The physicians of Southern Medical Group practice the specialties of Internal Medicine and Cardiology. The services they provide consist of adult primary and specialty care, as well as, consultations for other physicians. The following are some of the services we offer in our practice.

Ultrasound
Carotid Duplex Ultrasound - Ultrasound is a study that uses sound waves to "see" inside your body. A carotid duplex ultrasound is performed to evaluate symptoms including dizziness, loss of memory, stroke, loss of musclecontrol and other symptoms that might result from narrowing or blockage of the vessels (carotid arteries) on either side of your neck. A carotid ultrasound can also be used to screen for stroke risk.
Radiology
It can take up to 72 hours for lab results to show in your portal account. Other information should show the same day. You will not be able to see radiology results, such as x-rays and MRIs. For a complete copy of your medical record please contact your physician’s office and ask for medical records.
X-Rays

General Surgery
Dr. Heidepriem attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his residency in general surgery at Baptist Health Systems, also in Birmingham, Alabama. He then completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis.
Vascular Surgery
Dr. Heidepriem joins us from Birmingham, Alabama where he has been in practice for many years. He is board certified in Surgery and Vascular Surgery, and holds privileges at TMH.
