Helping you experience the best life!

Business Description
Mt. Zion Church and it's many ministries have been serving North Oakland county for almost 40 years. We believe God offers us the best life and it is our desire to help everyone experience it! Operating from three local venues, we are a non-denominational church with a heart for our community and a vision to reach the nations. Our international outreach includes a church in El Salvador as well as missions trips through our young adult ministry. We believe that it is time for God's people (His church: individual, collective and universal) to take their place of prominence in the earth as the sons of God. We hope you will come join us and experience the transformational power of the Word of God in your life!

Overall
This church is a cult

This church loves money more than Jesus. Their goal is 2 b as rich as possible & buy up property to make a "Christian community" that has nothing 2 do with Jesus. They do nothing for the poor. Their performing art ctr & all of their other properties are 100% secular. They never talk about Jesus. They're services are emotional & people fall down & speak in tongues. A very sad place that sold out to money as Jesus said many would do.. Stay away. Your soul is at stake.

'timlovesann' hasn't a clue what he's talking about. Mt Zion does church the way it should be done. And yes, it's bishop is an anointed man of God who is led by the spirit of the Lord.

Not sure what happens behind closed doors

They are an extremely closed door community and like a cult. I received a mailing from this church claiming to distribute the real body and blood of christ! What gives this pastor the "authority" to make this claim. Sounds like his "flock" will believe whatever this deceiver will tell them!

I can also add that I have family members who attends this church. Unfortunately since they adopted their "new" family, we do not see them around for Christmas any longer.

Spiritual Hospital and a Great place to Grow in your Faith

Mt. Zion offers free counseling classes called Life Enrichment (see website for more info). These classes changed my life and helped me more in a few months than a lifetime worth of everything else I tried. If you are hurting give it a try!

Church is a Word based, Spirit Filled church. Praise and Worship is fantastic. Pastor Loren delivers a present day word that speaks to me every single week!

Many different ministries to get involved in for people of all ages and interests. Including a coffee house and concert venue (the district) that are a great alternative to smoky clubs and bars.

Really nice at first, but then it gets controlling.

When I first started attending, it was friendly and the people were very caring. Once I started taking their class, which they want everyone to take, I found out what they're really about. They expect you to get baptized in their church, even if you've been baptized before. I refused to let them re-baptize me, and I had to go talk to one of the leaders about my decision. For the most part, the ministers are caring and very helpful, but after I got to know them better, I found them to be arrogant. They teach you that you have to give at least 10% of your money to the church, and when I said I wouldn't do that, one of the leaders said God would ""curse"" my finances if I didn't. I think this place does a lot of good for a lot of people, and I appreciate all they do to help the community, but it's not for me. I prefer to think for myself.
