To summarize...

Instead of actually assessing and getting in the correct muffler, they installed the completely wrong muffler on my rig, apparently just because that's all they stock. Everything I had done there was short-cutted. When I complained, the tech admitted that he installed the wrong muffler (even admitted that's because it's all they stock), then tried to convince me that I should just have him install a glasspack to correct the situation. He even outright lied saying that Magnaflow doesn't make a three-chamber muffler as I had it pulled up on their website (took me all of two minutes to research the correct muffler myself). When all this was brought to the attention of the owner, he plied me with excuse after excuse, but basically admitted that they used nothing more than guesswork to decide on a muffler for my vehicle. They tried to say all this was a result of me putting them in a "time crunch" to get it done, when I did absolutely nothing of the sort. That was just one of several blatant lies the tech was caught in about the job on my vehicle. Both the tech and the owner tried to make excuses by totally bs'ing me, which I saw through because I am a mechanic myself and I know my vehicle. The owner did offer to install a different muffler. However, considering all the lies and the hastily poor work they did (I had a certified welder check the welds), I therefore refused to have my vehicle in their shop again. I simply called them out on every lie I was told and requested only to return the incorrect muffler for a refund. The owner then became defensive over me "telling them how to do their jobs", and is now implying that I have somehow harassed them. How they do their jobs is every bit my business when it is my vehicle that has been done incorrectly. There is no excuse for dishonesty, and I have never had more lies thrown at me at one incidence before. He says obviously I just won't be satisfied, and not to contact them again. I told him exactly what would satisfy me...simply refund what I paid for the incorrect muffler and I will hand I back to them. Simple, and even more cost effective for them than installing a new one for me. Obviously, they must do some good work for others, but they totally botched a simple muffler application and refuse to own responsibility for it. I threw good money away on an incorrect muffler, and they think that's perfectly fine. When it comes down to it, this business is dishonest and can't handle being called out on it.
