I'm writing this review because of the wonerful experience I had at Aura Dental. I hadn't been to a dentist in 8 years due to a very bad experience. For several years I couldn't smile unless I covered my mouth with my hand because one tooth was chipped pretty bad and was just getting worse over time. I knew I had to go to the dentist. Aura dental came up on a search I did and it was close to my home. From the first call I made to schedule an appt. I was treated well. The dentist is awesome! He made me feel so comfortable, he's very good and very gentle. He also told me everything he was was going to before he did it and it all helped me totally relax and get the work done that I needed. I can actually smile and laugh freely without trying to hide my mouth. It is the best feeling ever!! I had other work done over several appointments and can't say enough good things about this place. If your afraid of the dentist like I was, there's no need to be when going here.
I believe that Dr. Rajas Chitra's office was fraudulent in their billing and that her dental work was questionable. My son required filling on his molars and she filled them. Six month later, she said the fillings were broken and blamed it on the palate expander the orthodontist had installed and since removed. Our orthodontist is ranked in the top 100 in the nation and is a published researcher on palate expansion...he was perplexed at how she came to the conclusion that the palate expander (not applied to the teeth in question) could possibly have caused the cracks in the fillings. Dr. Chitre repaired the fillings and on the next 6 month visit, the SAME fillings were cracked AGAIN. This time she blamed it on our son grinding his teeth. There is no dental evidence of this and the orthodontist would have addressed it immediately if there had been. Not only did she repair them again, this time she charged us the full fee for all repairs up front because her office lady did not believe that insurance would cover the repair. They offered a caveat: they would refund the money if and when the insurance covered the repairs. The insurance did indeed cover the repairs and when I called to inquire as to when we could expect the refund check, I learned that the business had been sold. This leaves us wondering if the up front payment was really an intentional double collecting of fees before unloading the practice. Extremely disappointing. We have not seen the new dentist(s) yet, but we did contact the office regarding this issue. They said that they would try to contact the old owners for us, but we never heard back. I think we'll be changing dental offices.
I am very sorry about your experience with the previous owner. Unfortunately I do not have any control over what had happened before. But I do have control over what happens now that we own the office. We would love for you to give us a chance. The change has seemed very positive for the old patients of Dr Chitre's and they have all given up positive feedback about how much they like the new dentist and all the changes. If you decide to go somewhere else, we understand that as well. Sincerely, Loretta Stockdale Admin
Had such a good time meeting the staff here. This was a very pleasant experience. I had to have a tooth pulled and was so terrified, but Dr. Beheshtian put my mind at ease and now I've booked another appointment to finish all of my cavities.
Hi, I am the new dentist that bought this practice. Just want to let everyone know that I have been practicing in the Sacramento area for over 15 years. I've upgraded the office to digital and have brought alot of other new technology into the office. I take pride in taking care of my patients and always want you to feel free to call my office regardless of the time of day or night it is. I'm here for you.

Called the office number at 1 in the morning on Friday night and to my surprise someone answered the phone and helped me get through the night with that God awful tooth pain I had. Then Dr Beheshtian met me early in the morning and did a root canal and crown for me. Now I'm enjoying what could have been a horrific weekend. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!!
The office asked me if I was happy to write a review for them. So here goes. Today was my first visit to this office and I was made to feel like one of the family. The dentist was very thorough at doing my cleaning and informed me every step of the way. Three thumbs up!
DO NOT GO! I should have read the reviews before I went. This was the worst office I have ever been to. The office lady was rude, even atogonizing. I could not believe it. She laughted at me and smirked. Unreal. She even talked about me in public to another client. I will be filing with the dental association. Good riddens get another profession. Being rude doesnt pay....

I saw DDS Rajas Chitre about a year ago to have a cap put on an uncovered root-canal. She took full mouth xrays, and said everything looks fine but I needed to have a crown put on my root-canal and a different tooth needed a filling.
The first visit she took the impression for my crown, and did the filling. The next visit, she had the crown ready and told me to bite down to get it into place. I bit down and the crown broke. She became flustered and told me it was because I had a very strong bite. She took another impression but said she would only do another porcelain crown if I bought a $500 mouth guard, otherwise she was making me a metal crown. I said ""okay I'll get the mouth guard"". I came back and she said ""okay bite down"" as she put the (now second) crown on. She gave me a paper and asked me to sign that I was accepting the crown. I signed. Later that day I noticed that the crown had metal showing at the top lateral and medial sides. I called her and complained. She acted as though she was doing me a favor by replacing it yet again. She took the (now third) impression, and after putting it in a week later, I noticed she again chipped the porcelain off of the inside, and when she couldnt shave down the crown enough to get the appropriate ""bite"", she shaved down a natural tooth below it. I was so tired of seeing her and dealing with her pissy, impatient attitude that I didnt make much of an issue over it even though it hurt when I'd eat anything sweet or chocolatey.
A year later when a different filling chipped and became painful, I decided to see a different dentist. He did full mouth xrays and came in to give me the news. He said, the tooth with the chipped filling needed an inlay, and the tooth right in front of it....(the tooth Rajas Chitre put a filling in) was basicly a time bomb because the decay in that tooth was so close to the nerve and MIGHT require a root canal. Then to top it all off, he said ""and that crown needs to be re-done."" I said I just had it done a year ago. He looked a little shocked. He said it doesnt cover high enough and after removing the crown said the gums were so bad under the crown that he had to remove some of the tissue and medicate it. He then asked if she shaved down the tooth below it because it looed so flat. I said yes and he asked why. I told him that she needed to shave it down so that the crown would fit. He said that the tooth she shaved down is eventually going to cause problems and that u are never supposed to shave down a natural tooth to get a fake one to fit. Makes sense. Well the new crown fits great!....which he did in ONE DAY along with an inlay. Oh and the mouth guard was total crap. It lasted 2 weeks before it wore through and cost us $500. DO NOT let Rajas Chitre near your teeth. You'll be sorry!
