I have been eating at this place for over 20 years and it is still great. I usually get the ribs. If you take a party of four and get a couple of extras, it can get pretty pricey for what many people would consider as "pub food". Still it's a great comfortable place to eat. Oh, though their service is quite capable don't get in a hurry if you go here, and if you're going during the busy times, make sure and call ahead a few hours in advance, otherwise you may be forced waiting an hour just to get a table.
Hitching post is one of Cincinnati's best kept secrets; used to go to the one on Ridge many years ago and for whatever reason did not know the restaurant was still in business on Madison Rd. of course I have been missing out; a friend suggested my going there and I am now though a regular customer; it can't be beat for good home cooking, particularly for on the go singles! the potato pancakes are a weekly treat.
Pleasantly surprisedAfter reading all the negative reviews, I was a little leary of visiting the Montgomery Inn in Cincinnati. My wife & I dined there previously and worried things had changed. THEY HAVE NOT changed at all. If anything they are better than ever. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and every one was friendly. We will DEFINITELY come back (4 hour drive from Cleveland)
Hometown Cincinnati Family Comfort Food at its very best! Fried Chicken to die for, amazing crisp little fried potato cakes, fried corn on the cob (who knew that could be so heavenly). Their pies are so good we now order them for our holiday meals and gatherings. Great food and service.
Problem with the professionalism of staff. Credit card information of one of our party of eight was stolen by one of the staff. That entire experience left a bad taste in our mouth, so to speak, and none of us have ever returned.
Famliy found it by mistake and thought BBQ sounded good, ended up being one of the best decisions we ever made! Best ribs, pulled pork, collard greens, and slaw! Always a first choice when we all go out, and everyone loves it :)
We stopped by on Sunday morning for brunch. The goetta was good and the portions were right. The place was so busy that the service was a little slow but for Hitching Post that's a good thing!
Been going to Hitching Post for a few years now. Sunday brunch after Mass means a tasty vegetable omelet, turkey sausage, potato pancakes to die for! Tuesdays is yummy chicken and dumplings!
Great food and great atmosphere ! Love this place. Never once had bad service or bad food ! It's so yummy and I love the Tso Chicken....fresh and melt in your mouth ...........RECOMMEND !
I love this place, I have been going for years and the customer service is wonderful, it's family owned and they are always friendly. And the food is very good, everyone should go.
