been wonderful to work with

I have had a totally different experience than the previous reviewer. My 10 year old son wears glasses and they have been incredible in helping us through the process. I would highly recomend Chico Vision Care.

Terrific Experience

I went to Chico Vision Care this week, and can't say enough about the staff and doctors. Their staff is professional, friendly, and are eager to assist. The doctors take the time to explain the exam, and took the time to answer my questions. The optician took quite a bit of time with me, and I got a pair of glasses (that I love!) at a fair price. I'll be recommending them to my friends & family.

I decided my old optometrist (near downtown Chico... cough cough), who is now retired as I found out, was a poor doctor. I had called his office twice, and no one answered; it was definitely time to switch an optometrist. I found and called Chico Vision Care, hoping they would change this experience for me - and they did.

Although it was hard to distinguish the building from others, I had absolutely no trouble with the whole process. The office is professionally decorated, with a stylish and broad selection frames on the walls. Oh, not to mention its friendly staff. That's not all, I was called in on time, and that almost never happens!

The actual examination room is roomy, simple, yet functional. I had Dr. Lim, and you can tell that he's lively and humorous - unlike others of his field. My examination was performed in less than 20 minutes, thanks to the office's advanced technology. I didn't have to deal with those annoying pupil drops anymore, and that was really nice.

The person who assisted me with the frames, Stan, was patient. He didn't hesitate to show me frames that were in storage, and he offered me a generous discount on designer frames. He also took measurements of my eyes and ensured me warranty on the glasses (I don't know if this is standard procedure as my old and only optometrist was so bad).

Overall, I highly recommend Chico Vision Care. I had a great time, and I had so much fun. I can't wait to go back there again next year!

This is the worst eye place you can go. They bill your insurance for services they never provided. The optician is rude and inpatient. And to top it off they give you the wrong perscription. In more detail I went there to get contacts for the first time. I did my normal exam and then they scheduled a contact training appointment for a month away. Before the contact training appointment I received a nasty bill in the mail saying I need to pay immediately for, 4 boxes of contacts. Contacts that I hadn't recieved or even tried. They had no way of knowing if I would even be able to where contacts, much less what brand. But they billed my insurance anyway. Then after the contact training and the generic contacts they tried to give me I went back to tell them the contacts were not comfortable. They gave me a trial pair of Acuvue. 5 Months later I recieved another bill in the mail stating I need to immediately pay $400 for a trial pair of lens! This is the worst place you can go.
