Nice place, and not nearly as crowded as the places on Argyle. I have been coming here weekly (at least) for about two years... BUT........... Today they just lost my business for good! On a whim, I stopped in for some snack food and picked up a bag of veggie chips (Aji "Fabulous"). Every bag on the shelf was marked $1.95. The register scanned at $2.49. I confronted the cashier (a young girl, not the usual guy who always checks me out), and asked me to pay first, signaling that she'd get the manager. While I waited, the manager discussed it with the cashier, went back to the shelf for a while, looked at the bags some more, scratched the price tags with her fingernail, scanned the item again, looked at me and said confidently "it's $2.49" I explained that they have to charge what it is marked... wheat they ALL are marked. She just stated that the price tag is wrong, it's $2.49. And proceeded to just stare at me. I looked around for my usual cashier (who has always been very helpful - including finding specific items many times over), but he was not around. Finally, the manager asked "You don't want?". I just took it anyway, figuring that it is "only $.50" -- but what really upsets me is the principle of the thing, and the sad part is that if this part is that for a mere $.50, any business should not hesitate to fix things for the customer. Not here -- I am completely appalled and offended that this woman basically made me feel like I was wrong! Sorry, you lost my business -- from now on I wait in line on Argyle.
I love the cakes and cupcake and have recommended this bakery to many friends and relatives because of the great cakes. To my surprise upon a recent visit the counter attendant who was helpful in assisting me with my purchases packaged my baked goods in a box that was only fit to be thrown out! It had fingerprint smudges over the box and writing and doodleson it. I kindly ask the young lady to give me a fresh box because the presentation was just as important as the goods inside, especially when spending a nice sum of cash for your purchases. She complied but definitely demonstrated a truly perturbed attitude. Stephanie, train your staff that great customer service extends to not only assisting customers in a cordial manner, but presentation is key even down to packaging. One thing to make fabulous "slap yo mamma" food, but if it is not packaged well all goes to naught. Invest in some better containers add a holiday motif during the holiday for folks to remember your bakery. You can't blow up large when you and staff operate like its your home kitchen and you aren't marketing your goods in a better way. Even Dunkin Donuts invest a little in there packaging.
Epitome.. Is the perfect word for this business. The website needs work but the store lives up to its name. I only had about $400 to start my business. As soon as I walked in one of the employees was ready to assist me. I got everything I was looking for and more. Not only did they help me start my own business ive lost 19lbs myself. Upstairs is a non-advasive office where they do iLipo and hair removal. I love it and YES i would recommend this company to anyone. Although they are moving about 30 min from down town but I still will take the drive. The thing I liked the most was everyone was professional. Not one of the girls were slacking off, rolling their eyes, standing around looking bored like some clothing stores. Everyone was well dressed, spoke to me as if I was the only client and I was comfortable in the dressing room getting my sizes done. Lol security guards do look scary though... 5 stars id give 9 if I could Hope this was helpful MJD
I was introduced to this lovely shop by a friend of mine and have been hooked EVER since. This is the BEST dessert place I've been to!! And if you like key lime pies (my favorite) she has those AND these WONDERFUL key lime bars!!! THE BEST!! It is surrounded with a very yummy graham craker crust that melts in your mouth. Also at this shop are all types of pies, bananna pudding, cookies, different flavors of cupcakes, peach cobbler to nale just a few.....and everything is fresh so its best to call to see what's available. If it's not ready at the moment she will give you an estimated time of FRESH arrival :) Not to mention you can pre-order items too. So I love the small personal service that makes you feel at home plus the fact that everything is THE BEST!!!! You cannot go wrong....Keep up the fantasic work and I will keep raving about your place and sending all my friends/family. God bless you :)
This is the absolute worst Walmart I've ever been to in my life. As the other reviews put it, the staff is rude, the store is dirty and there are DEFINITELY boxes ALWAYS in the aisles when I go. The staff is always gossiping or unprofessionally flirting with each other or me! I don't even go there for myself I go to pick up my mom's medication from the pharmacy & their is a rude *blanking blank* named MARCELINA who is CONSISTENTLY mind bloggingly RUDE & obnoxious & even though I called her supervisor & although he was sympathetic he had excuses for her rudeness. (I'm in customer service and its a pet peeve of mine to deal with unnecessary bad customer service.) Unfortunately, if you go to any Walmart NOT located in the city of Chicago on North Ave you'll have a great experience. This is why we can't have a superstore in the city!!! Smh
Went to this store today and I loved it. I went there for some caffeine cream and walked out with stuff I just had to have. I brought in a waist cincher i bought on ebay. It was a fake ann chery item which I know now was made in china and made of leather and not of latex. Yes it was a china brand but had ann chery labels on it. The manager at this store took me to the back and showed me what real waste cinchers look like, feel like and so forth. I am not buying these fake brands on ebay anymore I felt ripped off and taken advantage of. Bottom line its more than just a lingerie store. They have shoes, clothes, costumes, makeup, jewelry. I was Definitely Satisfied. Also this store offers gym membership at their other location for $19.99 a month Good service, great store, love the design aspect as well. I will be referring my friends and family
Lucke just gave me the worst experience I have ever had in a store. Terrible employee. He needs to learn proper ways to access certain situations, and this is coming from someone with EXTENSIVE customer service experience. He's a young punk getting cheap thrills off of making customers feel terrible. I will never step foot in there again. Was going to call manager Raja to complain but it's not worth the effort and I've wasted enough thought on this experience. Lucke needs a new job where he will be happier. If this gentleman lied about his name he was the one working 1am January 30 2017. Also I called to ask for managers name and Lucke lied and said he was manager. Then accused me of being wrong. It was a very one sided conversation and I wish this person and I will never meet again because he seems like a terrible human being.
The store itself is decent; there were a few employees that went above and beyond, the rest could be more professional. Just because you work in a not so great area, don't mean you shouldn't be professional in your work. I'm talking about a stock person putting out merchandise singing the same discusting rap song over and over again and laud. I feel the walmart owners don't care about the stores in the African American communities. Comparing the stores Northlake and North Ave store is like day and night. For example; I love grapes, the grapes in the north Ave store is not only dirty, they look muddy. I know I have to wash fruit before I eat it. They should at least make them appetizing, appealing to the eye. This is the ONLY store where the fruits is not to par.
What can I say about a local fixture in the community with friendly staff, great prices, and great produce. EVERYTHING! In the spring you can get all your gardening needs taken care of. In the fall your perfect pumpkin is waiting in their pumpkin patch. Hay bails, corn stalks, and other halloween things are available. Then when you want to find the perfect christmas tree you will find it there. I shop at alot of different stores, but for great prices on produce you can't beat the Egg Store. Other larger stores prices on produce are two to three times higher. I will not buy produce anywhere but the Egg Store. Fresh is always a good thing, and the workers are always going threw the produce making sure the top quality produce is available to the public.
