Had appointment to renew benefits scheduled for December 26 the day after Christmas. On January 4th no link deposited into my account. Called this office at least fifteen times!!!! Tried again this morning and still no one answered. This number the office just uses it but never answers.

The supervisor was demeaning and insensitive to the needs of myself and all others I saw her with. Wrong person for a very important people job in the State of Illinois. Seemed to need to psychologically disrespect the hordes she is paid to serve.
The employees at this office DO NOT answer phones. If you are lucky enough to get through to a voicemail--which occasionally occurs--you will be instructed to punch in a number if your caseworker's name begins with a specific range of letters, and so on, but that worker will not answer the phone. You night be lucky enough to get a voicemail tape; however, if you leave a message, your call will never be returned. A response from the State of Illinois stated that Public Aid no longer assigns caseworkers to cases, so apparently their voicemail system is outdated.
Went in today. From the minute we walked in until we were done it was a pleasant experience.The girl at the information desk was helpful.Mr. Richard Jones was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain everything we needed to know. Sorry some had a bad experience, but we were only there for about 35 minutes and I would go back again if I had to.
Today, February 20, 2013 I attempted to satisfy the demand for payment of traffic tickets through a payment plan. I spoke with representatives of the City's Finance Department and was directed to a City of Chicago attorney's office at (312) - 526-1298. After dialing that number I got an automated response stating that I should hold for a representative or leave a message. After being on hold for approximately 45 minutes, I attempted to leave a message; however, the automated service stated that the message in-box was full and messages could not be accepted. Not be able to do what the City's Finance Department demands because telephones are not answered is a significant hardship to citizens. The City of Chicago should not make it difficult on citizens to fulfil its demnds. In addition, the cost of parking meter expirations and other minor violations (front liscense plate missing) is excessive; the doubling of fines and addition of "collection fees" is similar to gouging. All considered, it has become extremely difficult to pay these additional "taxes" and conduct business in the City of Chicago. Also, a complaint process is not available or it is impossible to find. It is most likely that a response from the City's Finance Department will not be forthcoming.
Absolutely HORRIBLE service!!! They are sullenly rude, curt and condescending/belittling all the way from the Security Guard at the door to the lady behind the counter. They talk down to you as if you're dirt....stupid.....and with an ATTITUDE. I got NO help at all; no suggestions, no referrals, etc. The Security and the lady behind the counter tried to belittle, intimidate and then actually argue with me instead of simply answer questions. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!
Hello Aldermen Mrs. Sandy Jackson I writing to you because I need some help from you. Now let me explain ,,, I've lived in South Shore area and worked for over twenty years . I had a job at remodelers supply . Then I've worked at Homedepot company for the remainder of my last job of thriteen years until I had a brainanasm and two strokes . The company do receive things such as weatherizton vouchers for windows doors plastic and appliances as well . I've tried to get one for my house hold for three months or more . No success yet . I hope you can help me . You are my last hope . I do know that the vouchers do exsist from working with the patrons from work . I'm located in the 7600 E block. My electrical range has gone out . I'm a type two dieabectic with insurlin use every day . I have to stay on my food diet as well . A real limited cooking of fried foods . My oven has gone out and the top eyes are going out soon . So please help me in my delemer . I need a engry voucher for the new stove . ASAP please help . RSVP BACK PLEASE SOON ASAP WAITING .?
this place is very slow and some of the case workers have very bad attitudes.there are a lot of good workers but they need to have faster services to be able to get their clients in and out.
i am sad to say that the experience's i have had at this facility are not only terrible but also demeaning. I came to this place due to a temporary set back in my career, i needed assistance (temporarily). i was spoken to and treated like I was scum. The way that they spoke to me and the things that they said were very, "very", unprofessional. i tried not to take it personal because i noticed it was not just me....they seemed to speak terribly with others as well. i understand some people take advantage of the system, but some people are actually hard workers and may encounter a time in their life when they need assistance, but my goodness, treat people with respect!!!! It was mostly the women that were awful, the spanish speaking gentlemen was pleasant. All i'm saying is be ready to get spoken down to.....and be ready to get a hard time from these women, even if you qualify for the benefits, they will try and make it difficult, "very difficult" for you!!!!
