Has to be among the worst if not the absolute worst post office in the city...both mail and package deliveries are routinely mis-delivered if delivered at all...calls to complain get you the most unconcerned personnel imaginable...less than 1 star would be too generous...
I have lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and I have never had worse service from a post office. Frequently, my mail never arrives, or arrives very late. When I have called and tried to speak to a manager, the person who answers refuses to connect me. Recently, I have missed delivery of two bills (one of which did arrive, several days after payment on it was due), a paid subscription magazine, and my Chicago parking sticker. Fortunately, I will soon be moving out of this neighborhood.
Have been waiting for a package since May 1st. Tracking says "Item processed thru ISC Chicago, IL May 8th. It's now May 22nd. No further tracking info listed. There are HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS of complaints about this USPS...let's get the media involved, go to CNN and if enough people send a complaint about (ISC) Chicago USPS, they'll do a story. I can't believe the huge number of complaints all over the web! It's time to notify CNN maybe an investigative journalist can find out what's going on. It can't hurt...I can't believe the Postmaster General hasn't issued a statement. Rude staff, horrible rumors about theft of international parcels, or parcels that just "vanished" without any reason, and no one accountable. Contact CNN & lets see what we can do...these people need to answer for this. I've ordered parcels from China that went through Customs in NY and received parcels in 5-10 business days. I don't believe Chicago is busier than NY.
Zero star! Worst workers in the world! I went there yesterday, there was a long queue with no staff in sight to attend to us. We could hear the staff talking and laughing somewhere. I left, like others after waiting for 30 minutes. This situation has been going on for years, No one cares!.
Seems to be the slowest sorting in the whole of USA. Have mailed items from all over the USA, but Chicago is the slowest! Many cities have a turnover time of mail in a couple of hours, but Chicago's turnover time is days!
It saddens me that I've been dealing with this awful service for over 4 years! I dread having to have missed a package. The procedure is nothing less than amazing. I call for over a hour straight (just hitting send over and over) to listen to the phone ring. I may get someone to answer (on a good day) just to be given basic, brief and short answers to where my package may (or may not be). Then to go there and wait in line for upto a hour (once it was a hour 10). It brings tears to my eyes to know that the staff treat the customers like discarded trash! Remember I mentioned only if I miss a delivery because u can NOT pay me to go there for any other service. When I need to use the postal service 40th & Halsted is THE place to go! Yes it's still African Amercan workers but they're pleasant and they treat you with the utmost respect. It's a delight to just pull up to the office after moving this way and dealing with the workers on 46th St. turning the key on my mailbox to see one of those notices is a heart sink.
When you see a place of business with a 1.5 star rating you can't help but this to yourself: "Wow... 1.5 stars... that does not JUST happen... you have to WORK to be THAT bad." Well, it is true. This is the WORST post office I HAVE EVER BEEN to. I would give ZERO stars if I could!I got there are 12:00 pm on my lunch. There were only three people in line a head of me. It took the crotchitty old woman behind the counter 45 MINUTES to get to me. But, I work int he service industry, so I tried to be polite. I asked her to please mail something that I had labeled, and boxed up- all I needed was tape. "We don't do that here-- you should have checked online. We are not a full service post-office. NEXT!"She shrugged me aside before I could even say: "You have NO tape.... none at all?" which by the way is CRAZY!!!So, kinda shocked and very offended I headed towards the door so I could go across the street to target to buy some effing tape. But another customer in line stopped me and pointed out the sticky clear envelopes that were sitting on the self-service desk. I did not know they were there..... BUT, HOW HARD would it have been for the woman behind the counter to have told me THIS?! Lazy and rude does not BEGIN to describe it.SO, now 20 minutes past when my lunch break ended I used the clear sticker, and got back in line. Now behind four new customers. I waited ANOTHER 30 minutes (now 50 minutes past my lunch break ending) to be served. I got the desk to be "greeted" by the same woman who says "Oh, you're back."........ It took every once of my self control not to yell "OF COURSE I AM BACK YOU CRAZY *insert any swear word here*!!!!"She served me, without looking up once. No apology, nothing. I asked for a receipt, which I was told i could not have because:"You didn't pay this- this is a free return. No money, no receipt."Me: "Well, can I have a tracking number?"Her: "No money, no receipt, no tracking number. NEXT!!!"I will NEVER be using this post office again! This is where customer service and human decency goes to die!!!!
Your mail system is very unorganized. I sent a parcel to Canada on May 2nd from louisiana and it arrived on your premises on May 4th and it has never moved. Either you send it back to me or I want the full value and postage I paid to mail it. Thank you.
One of the worst one in the city. Mail not delivered on a timely bases, One building recieves mail and the building next door does not.(ex. 354 E 60th recieves their mail and 352 E 60th do not). It seems like you have a put a trace on every piece of mail to find out happen to your mail. VERRY BAD.
