This place is really, really good. Of course, for the price and the Michelin rating, you'd kinda hope it would be.As other reviewers have stated, don't plan on making a quick stopover of it; really plan to settle in. They will NOT be rushed.Others have complained that there's nothing fancy (and warranting the price) about Thai food- but I disagree. It's exactly what it's supposed to be- exceptionally prepared and perfectly flavored food. A word of advice, however: when they offer a choice of spice level and let you know that "mild" is actually pretty hot, don't be a hero and go for the "medium". Just don't. Your palate will thank you. The guy refilling your water glass will thank you. The date sitting across from you not having to witness your "I'm not crying" tears will thank you.
I love Snail Thai. The food is some of the best Thai food I've had in Chicago. It is relatively inexpensive. The atmosphere is very laid back, but the wait staff is attentive and courteous. I've gotten so many people hooked on this restaurant and love to introduce "Thai virgins" to Snail. I highly recommend it.
We love the authentic vibe when we walk in. It is a small space, but it's cozy. My favorite are the curry dishes. We frequent this place often, but prefer to take out during busier times just due to the space.
This was a great place, with a fantastic and courteous staff. Which along with the food made for a fantastic meal, the pad thai is excellent!
They have excellent lunch specials. The food is always excellent and served piping-hot. The service is very attentive without being intrusive
Good Thai food, reasonably priced and offers BYOB. My favorite is the house signature basil salmon.
Amazing coffee served with a side of great service and a very lively neighborhood atmosphere!
My go to Thai place for Wicker Park. Solid food, good value.
best pad Thai I've had being in Chicago
