I came to shine today for the first time and everyone there was very friendly, it's really neat and clean place to come and get your hair done. Everyone is professional and most importantly I'm satisfied with the outcome of my hair!
I've gotten my hair braided my entire life and I've never had a more worse experience than at this place. I had an appt, was the first to arrive but they still took other people in front of me and had me waiting for almost 3 hours before they started. And to top it off, my faux locs came out terribly. Do Not Go Here!
DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!! They do very sloppy work and they are very unprofessional!!! They are careless and shady and wouldn't compensate for the poor service received!!! If you go here you might as well pay someone's child to play in your hair at the playground!!! The pictures they have aren't their work. They are most definitely amateurs and I wouldn't recommend their service to a blind person!!!
NOBODY I REPEAT NOBODY GO TO THE HAIR BRAIDING PLACE ON 126 W. 69th!!!!! The woman was 45 minutes late to the shop and her sister that was supposed to help her finish my hair actually coped a attitude and said she couldn't braid my hair because I asked her to wash her hands after blowing her nose! She said I blew my nose in the tissue not my hands and told me that she couldn't wash her hands after blowing her nose each time. So that means you must don't wash your hands after going to the bathroom either since you're using tissue and not your fuckn hands!!!! STAY AWAY FROM REBECCAS HAIR BRAIDING ON 126 W. 69th!!!!
I absolutely love Mai's African Braiding shop and I adore Felicia!! She's been doing my hair for about 7yrs and each time I've love my style! When I'm out in public people stop and ask me who does my hair! It's always neat and my hair holds a beautiful shine the entire time it's in my head!! Go check out Mai's African Braid Shop located 1944 E. 73rd street "New Location" you want be disappointed!!
I had been coming to Leru for years not consecutive tho I drive from Riverdale,Il all the way out west..I got some invisible micro braids with sew in middle hair also provided by me cost 160 total for hair the hairstyle was 160 so now I've spent 320. I am natural so I knew I would have to flat iron my perimeter. When she got done I loved my hair, but after a week and a half my hair started to come down, unravel, and looked like I had a month worth of new growth in the back. I drove back out here to show her my hair on yesterday. I asked how much to just put micros around my perimeter because my hair was messed up and I was unable to cover up my sew in in the back. She told me don't worry about it and to come back tomorrow. So I am in the shop now...AFTER she took my hair down she talking about another 100 and buy another pack of micro hair to do my perimeter ...I refused to pay that. They decided to do it for 60. When I came back from buying my hair no one would service me...
Rated most unprofessional service and scam. This is for Mary's African Braid Shop located on 79th Jeffrey. I have frequented several times along with friends(2)and we have confirmed that the scam is this: You ask the owner the price of a style, she refers you to another person, this person does your hair then asks for your money, when you pay your oprice they confront you sayng you shorted them money and argue about price to you instaed of the owner. Happens.. Every...time.... Alternative:The owner gives you a price then LATER someone else will say no we really charge xyz amount. When you ask the owner to speak up for you she will not and allows the person (any one fo the ladies) to tell you what you will pay or they wont do it. One woman in particular is NOTORIOUS for trying to make you feel uncomfortable with price. She sits in the last chair to the right when you walk in the shop. The I-team will investigate.
I've been going to this shop for years and I love the service that I get the prices are very reasonable.

My son and I get an excellent haircut at Final Cuts every 2 weeks. The environment is always enjoyable and professional.
