Basura means trash in Spanish and unfortunately, I probably could have scrounged up a better meal in some any other restaurant's garbage dumpster. Sorry, but I'm still a little annoyed after taking a cab from my Magnificent Mile hotel over to a nearly empty Sangria with my wife. We walked in to an unattended hostess stand, only to discover three minutes later that she was one of the five or six employees gathered around the bar catching up on the latest gossip instead of doing her job. She then proceeded to tell us to have a seat at the bar and wait. With no further explanation, my wife and I sat puzzled looking at dozens of clean, empty and prepared tables trying to figure out why weren't sitting at one of them. Another couple drifted in and was immediately seated while we waited. After about ten minutes, I asked the hostess why we were waiting and she said that she didn't want to seat us and not have a server ready for us, but she promised it would only be another minute. Five minutes later we were seated.
We ordered some Ham and Potato Croquettes, a Cuban Salad, Grilled Mushroom plate as well as some Grilled Octopus. The mushrooms literally tasted like they used Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup to make the sauce. the octopus was the worst I've ever had, the croquettes were flavorless and the salad was just average (which made it the highlight of the meal). I also had a well below average traditional Sangria (red wine, brandy and fruits - how does a restaurant named Sangria mess that up?).

Sangria has an excellent mango sangria but beyond that it is highly over priced. All of the food was average, there was nothing I would rave about. We tried the giant crab stuffed prawn which maybe someone should share with them what a ""prawn"" is. We had an average sized shrimp with some crab surrounding it. Nothing spectacular for $11.95 (one small shrimp)! Calamari was decent- very lightly fried. Baked goat cheese, mushrooms, and spicy potatoes were all average. It was a decent meal, but as I said- over priced.

My coworkers and I recently celebrated our bosses bday with a night at Sangria. My boss is a pretty uptight guy but the service and menu here were so good that even HE had a good time! The staff was prepared to handle our large party (17) and even very nice about helping us. We're working on booking our holiday party there now. The valet helped TREMENDOUSLY!

We recently had a managers party for our Company and had a great time! We do them a few times a year throughout the nation and I must say I was impressed. Upon arrival we were greeted by huge welcoming smiles from the hostess'. We were seated immediately and our waiter was very attentive, and accomodating to our group of 20. The food started coming out pretty fast and was great! My favorite was the bacon wrapped dates and spicy meatballs, yum! The group loved the goat cheese, skewers, and spicy potatoes. We ordered a desert with a flaming presentation that the chef brought out , that was as delicious as it looked! The only reservation I have is not being able to try more things, but I look forward to coming back soon to do so! Great Experience, would highly recommend to all!
Went on a Friday evening. Somewhat crowded but we were able to grab some seats at the bar while we waited for seating. Bartenders were extremely friendly and make some of the best Sangria I've ever had. Once we were able to sit, our waitress was very knowledgeable and the dishes she recommended were great. Outside of the crowd and a little noise irritation, I'd go back anytime.
We went to Sangria on a night that happened to be a listening party for Daddy Yankee and it was great. It started out really slow, and the servers were a little bit TOO attentive, but after having great tapas and GREAT drinks that the bartenders came up with, we had a great time on the dancefloor dancing to reggaeton and salsa!
I would definitely come back just to hang out!

To truly have a ""Latin"" experience, might I recommend Latin America, Spain, Portugal or 26th Street for local convenience. Because the experience at Sangria indeed was like watching a business truly in need of an exorcist! Is it a nightclub or a restaurant? And once they decide, maybe they'll figure out how to do one or the other with proficiency. The food was deplorable, leave the paella to a real cook, trust me, even your mother, who has nil experience in cooking Latin dishes could have done better, rice and sea food mashed together is not paella, but simply mush! The Sangria was bitter and this was consistently so after a total of (5) five carafes among 12 women. The appetizers, less than appetizing and for god sake whatever you do, steer clear of the fried calamari! The phrase, ""fried greasy rubber? comes to mind. The least offensive dishes were the tacos, but be warned the tortilla are poorly prepared, but the meat was well seasoned. The desserts run the gamut, and so does the consistency. I'd say the ice cream is the safest bet: the creme Brule is presented in an innovative dish but lacking in taste. The bread pudding was mush covered in chocolate and their attempt at crepes/banana fosters will make you long for the crepes of France, even if you've never been to France. The service staff seemed bored and uninterested. Our waitress could make no recommendations and who could blame her, based on the swill passing as authentic Spanish cuisine, I'd be ashamed to recommend dishes too! The atmosphere is loud, crowded and hip; the decor is not clearly defined as Latin, mod or contemporary so they went for an eclectic hodgepodge that doesn't work. At 11:00 P.M. the dining area is cleared for Salsa and Merengue Music and dancing. The crowd is a Cosmo blend of young attractive Hispanics but the music is neither Salsa nor Merengue. Might I suggest any local Latin format radio station for authentic music and 26th street for better food & service.

This restaurant has quick valet service, but that's about it! We went Saturday night looking for a fun casual place to host a dinner party. The food was not good - the dishes were either very bland or too spicy! We waited way to long between tapas and left hungry! The portions are way to small. The menu seems reasonable, but in order to feel like you had a meal you would have to order 1/3 of the menu. The waiter after seeming to be kind and polite ended up charging and extra 18.00 to our credit card - we noticed when we checked our statement on line the next day. Way too much money on horrible food. This place is not worth visiting!

My husband took me here for my birthday, at my request, as I love tapas and we needed a romantic night out. Big mistake! When we got there, they squished us in a corner between three mega bachelorette parties. Our server was very apologetic, but pretty much admitted that she'd likely be ignoring us more than she should because she had the entire section of drunken (and demanding) bachelorettes. The tapas was pricier than better places (like Iberico or Ba Ba Re Ba) and not as good or ample. White sangria was very weak.
