I want to enjoy music more….Last week I went music academy .This Music academy is a really great place for dancers to have fun .I think if I have some knowledge of it that I would b able to understand it better and enjoy better. Music can be a great, healing relaxer to help us escape from the various stresses of life these days.

Used music and movies for cheap

I found all the old music and movies I love in this place as well as many new ones for a price so low I couldn't believe it! If you're gonna buy a record or a movie check these guys out before you goto Borders. The money you save and the rare gems you found make this a spot worth hitting up everytime you're looking for new tunes.

The only down side is the staff are kinda snobby and uptight. They listen to lots of music we've probably never even heard of and they look down their nose at you if you try to sell them used music they don't care about.

Good music, Snobbing employees

They have two locations - this one and another in Wicker Park [Wicker Park seams a little bigger, but I'm not sure on exact size of both locations]

The store is well known for having everything ever recorded in a used format [vinyl, cd, etc]

They are great for finding obscure out of date records and cd's....they are bad for having employees who look down their noses at you for not knowing the names of all their favorite indi rock bands.

Seriously - its amazing that in a music market so saturated with itunes, kazaa and myspace music downloads - some no talent hipster dork thinks he still has job security at a record store. Don't these people know we don't have to put up with their snobby bs to purchase music? Get a life, people! Or get a real job.

Selection galore!

I can never walk away from here with just one CD or album even though I try. At first, I was dragged in here by the music-geek boyfriend. After a few trips, I started looking around and found some great stuff! I have completed my Wilco CD collection finally as they had some rare EPs that I haven't ran into.

The staff is helpful IF you ask and their reviews on some of the CDs are hilarious. Only downfall...some of the used CDs are pricey and may skip. Take the risk anyway and go here for your music. Shop local!

kick-butt cd store

Super-cool indie spot for records. lotsa freaky introverted college students work here, giving it that authentic slacker vibe. good used selection, and you can listen to any cd you like. much better than buying from the man over at border's.
