Pinky nails has a second location on Grand and I walked in hoping to find a good place by my house. The decor is very upscale and new which might be why they charge way more for their services then most places ($30 for a fill in). The workers hardly said one word the whole time I was there, gave me an amateur and not so enjoyable hand and shoulder massage and gave me uneven, lumpy nails. I see no reason to go there again.

Great relaxing experience.

This nail place is great. I always try to ask for Eunice, who is also the manager. They really take their time when doing your nails. They also give you a neck massage which is wonderful! They put an oil on your legs if you get a pedicure. I highly recommend this place!

Went in as a walk-in for a pedicure... Place was a bit crowded but I had the time and figured I'd wait which was fine. Place seemed to have an upscale enough clientele, ie. Southport Corridor shoppers.
The pedicure itself was less than expected: she was really rough with the exfoliating on my legs and with the massage (not a relaxing experience), didn't do a very good job grooming/shaping my nails, and she didn't seem to understand enough English for us to communicate. Plus, the paint began chipping after a couple of days.
To top it off, the next day I noticed a horrible rash on my legs (no, I had not shaved my legs; yes, I've had pedis before and never had this problem). Not sure if it was something she used that I was sensitive to or if she was just too aggressive but it took a couple weeks of using hydrocortisone for my legs to recover. (It was fungal, but it was more than a few days of having to wonder if it was) Don't know what it was, but don't plan to go back and find out.

Horrific customer service

I booked an appointment for my friend (pedicure only) and me (mani and pedi).

When we arrived, they started her on her pedi, and me on the mani. Which is ridiculous, because the whole point of booking an appointment and going together is to sit next to each other.

After I'm done with the mani, I'm told that I have to wait for a pedi bc all of the chairs are full. Even though I had an appointment.

Twenty minutes pass before a chair opens up. And the lady in charge brings another girl to the seat!

I go to express my frustration. The woman was mildly apologetic, and offered to give me the very next chair. I told her that I just wanted to leave to spend time with my friend instead. (We had been there an hour already.)

My friend dries her toes, they ask her to pay, she does. We're waiting and waiting but no one approaches me about paying. So I assume that they have comped my mani to make up for their mistake. I tip my mani girl, we leave.

We're halfway down the block when my mani girl comes running out and asking me if I paid! She didn't speak English very well, so she couldn't do much, and neither could we. We went into a shop. We can't believe the owner made the girl run after us, instead of doing it himself. She had been in the middle of giving someone else a manicure!!

Then, when we are leaving the shop, the man/owner shows up with a POLICE OFFICER!

The police officer asks me to explain, and I do, and he says while he does not agree with it, I do have to pay. I understand that, and I open my wallet.

I ask the owner, ""Really, for a $10 manicure, you want to do this? I'm going to write every negative review and call the department of health and everything I can do. Do you really want to do that, over $10?""

His response: ""FIFTEEN dollars. FIFTEEN.""
