X-rays
The dental x-rays we take in our offices are an important part of evaluating your overall oral health. We take and develop them during your visit, so your dentist can immediately see what is happening under the surface of your teeth and gums during treatment. Most dentists recommend that all dental patients receive x-rays on a yearly basis. There is a common misconception that x-rays are only for kids and teens who still have adult teeth below the gumline. Although dental x-rays are used to track how teeth are developing, they also are beneficial for tracking tooth decay and gum disease.

Teeth Cleaning
At All Star Dental, we recommend bringing your child to the dentist starting around the age of six months for their first pediatric dental cleaning appointment. Studies show that poor oral health care in young children can lead to speech problems, poor performance in school and even an inability to socialize successfully with other children. Besides treating your childâ€™s teeth, our childrenâ€™s dentists will also give you advice on how to maintain good oral hygiene for your child between visits.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a natural mineral that has been used in many dental products. In fact, many municipalities put trace amounts of fluoride in the water to improve the overall health of the community. Fluoride as a mineral can encourage stronger bones and teeth. Aside from the water supply, a dentist might recommend fluoride toothpaste or a fluoride treatment during your regular check-up to improve dental health.
Dental Sealants
Proper brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from the smooth surfaces of your teeth, but they often canâ€™t reach into the small pits and depressions on the chewing surfaces of your back teeth, allowing food particles and plaque to build up there. In these cases, we can provide a thorough cleaning and then apply dental sealants that will bond into the depressions, acting as a barrier to protect the enamel from plaque and other unwanted substances.
