Excellent venue for a group of friends to share small plates. They make it easy with a menu of 8 "courses" of increasingly heavy tapas, offering a selection from several options in each category. Priced very reasonable, plenty of food, quick service, very friendly staff. Convenient location on Randolph. Hostess very accommodating as our group grew during the week, no difficulties adding to the reservation.

A Dining Crescendo!

I love this restaurant. The 8 course prix fixe is a phenomenal deal and super delicious. each dish was like a dining crescendo. it just kept getting better. amazing scallops, calamari, spinach cigars and of course the best bread pudding ever. pretty space along with kind and prompt service.

What a gem.

Sitting next to Chicago's gargantuan Girl and the Goat, it seemed life must be hard for the tiny, tastefully-decorated Nia restaurant. After dinner there on Wed night, I discovered that it definitely deserves more of a crowd than what it gets.

The tapas are insane - pork belly, braised rabbit, diver scallops, wild mushrooms sauteed in truffle oil - will all drive me back there in probably less than a week. Sangria was perfectly concocted, the red with a hint of cherry brandy and fresh cinnamon sticks - I found it to be the perfect drink for the onset of winter blues.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone - the diversity of the menu is universally appealing. The place is relaxing, the service really seemed to know their stuff, and the wine selection is of great value.

Awsome Food

Small and quite but nice. Good portions for the price. After eating there a couple times I've started craving it. I really like the Sangria and the fixed plate. I usually have some to take home. Hard to make room for the desert. Great location in West loop. Spanish food the way it's supposed to be.

Amazing gourmet food. Reasonable pricing.

The tuna carpaccio is so tasty and fresh. The croquettes were delicious . I also love the eggplant spread and the seafood cocktail with crab , shrimp, calamari, octopus and avocado. The house salad is great. The chocolate mousse was out of this world. It was so romantic how it had fresh berries buried in vanilla mousse under the chocalate and came to the table with a smoking plate , when the smoke passed all you saw was rose petals. Just amazing. Go here now!

Really not so good

What can I say. It really was not a great experience and none of the food was worth the price. Mistakes in the order that any restaurant claiming to know Mediterranean food should never make.

Great food

The restaurant is small intimate. Servers and Nia are great. We went there for my birthday and everyone know it was my birthday and came to the table to wish me a ""Happy Birthday"". Service was excellent. They have a free valet parking. Food was great. I have no complaint at all. The restaurant was a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone.

Although we had decent service...took a while to get the waiter to bring water but after that they were on their game...the food was just ok. I read a Time Out Chicago posting that got it perfect, some food was great, some was awful. I ordered the Nia house salad, it was absolutley wonderful and quite frankly wish I would have had another and called it a night. I ordered the special for the night, a calamari steak - bad idea. It was over grilled and tasted like char, not like calamari. The sides with it were WAY too salty, I could not taste the food, just salt. I could not finish it, and I am the kind of lady who finishes everything on my plate.

The wine, a recommendation from the server, was great on first sip, but sadly I was barely able to drink the rest of guest and I could not even finish the bottle it was so poor, and trust me that is not something that happens often.

Eater beware, come in and be picky with what you choose...if it sounds like risky - it probably is. Since I was there the opening week I would hope they have a few more kinks out. The salad would be worth going back for.

Hot new restaurant in the West Loop!

Went to dinner at Nia's last night. It wasn't too busy, which was nice. There were only a couple of other people in the restaurant, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was very attentive. The chef, Greg Cannon, took personal care of us! I totally reccommend going there on a Sunday or Tuesday or Wed. night. For starters we had the Barrata, which is a creamy buffalo mozzarella, served on a bed of arugala, drizzled with truffle oil. It was one of the most decadent things I have ever had! The other highlight was the Porcini and wild mushroom rissotto, which is the best rissotto I have ever had in a restaurant, hands down. If you go there, and it's not on the menu, ask for it! The tiramisu was infused with some wild italian cherries, which took it to a whole new level, and if you like tiramisu, you have to try this this one! The wine list was really good and moderately priced, and I look forward to going back once they change the menu this week, to sample the new lighter fare.
