I've been going there for 5-6 years and have found all the stylists and colorists to be extremely talented. If I do have a problem, I just discuss it and they listen and it's fixed. I am extremely happy and would never switch. As a bonus they have great parking, too! Everyone is professional and well trained.

I found Marianne Strokirk almost 8 years ago. She found the great hair style for me. This is the reason why I am still Marianne Strokirk's very happy client. I am very pleased with the service and the professionalism in this salon. I also like the location.

I've been getting my haircut at Strokirk Salons for many (15 maybe?) years. From the moment you walk in the door, everyone is thoughtful, helpful and happy. I schedule my appointments in the city around my haircut times now that my office is in the suburbs, and I still make time to see Sandi and get the best haricut in the world! It is a five star salon in every measure. As a man, I don't feel awkward walking into a salon run mostly by women--the whole atmosphere makes me feel very comfortable and included.

I have been going to this salon for over 10 years. I accidently found it through a friend who gave me a gift certificate, and what a great gift it's been. It is an upscale salon with a relaxed and comfortable environment. There is none of the ""attitude"" that often accompanies a salon of this caliber. In my opinion, my hair stylist Marne is ideal; her hair cuts are consistently terrific, she is truly an artist. With very few exceptions I love the cuts she gives me - I like to experiment with new hairstyles. The few times I've not been totally satisfied, she has been happy to re-style it until I was. She is friendly, fun and engaging BUT taking my lead, (without ever having to tell her) is non-intrusive and quiet if I'm not in the mood to chat. I recently began going to John for my highlights. He does an excellent job. I told him the last time he did them, that it was the best highlite job I've ever had - and I've been getting highlites for over 25 years. As well the reception area is well-managed and people there are nice and friendly.

In all the years of getting my haircut, Kristen is the first stylist who I've wanted to go back to! Now, I don't want to go anywhere else. The whole staff is incredibly friendly and professional, and it's actually important to them that your hair looks like you want it to. Kristen cuts my hair dry, styles it with products and tools I have, and does everything possible to make it an easy cut to maintain. Even the student colorists/stylists who do workshops for 20$ are fantastic! I would definetly recommend this salon to anyone and I bet you won't be disappointed if you try it.
Marianne Strokirk is a wonderful salon. Their styles (cuts and colors) are classic and elegant, without being staid or old-fashioned. The staff are professional and friendly, and the salon is comfortable and inviting. I've seen several stylists over the years and each has been wonderful and responsive while also making great suggestions.
For the past three years, I've treked in from the 'burbs every 5-6 weeks for two reasons: Janelle & Margaret . Janelle is always willing to try a new style, offers great suggestions and keeps me from doing anything rash. My brassy reddish hair was banished thanks to Margaret's color expertise . Their Oak street setting is sophisticated without being stuffy. The front desk staff is top notch -- organized, friendly and attentive.
The staff of Marianne Strokirk exhibit good taste in all that they do. Let's face it, it's an industry that is full of ridiculous trends. They remain truly modern and classic, never indulging in trends that are fleeting. I always feel that I emerge from the salon feeling like a better version of ""me."" My stylist has even gone so far as to gently recommend against a change that I might have wanted to make. Every time it has been the right decision. I have received both cut and color at Marianne Strokirk. Salon. There has never been a misstep. It's no wonder, celebrities request their senior staff.
I've been traveling 3 1/2 hours every six to eight weeks to have my haircut at this salon for the past 10 years. I've always enjoyed my experience with the staff and have had great cuts by both Chris (for 2 years) and Jeffrey for the last 8 years. Alex keeps the reception desk and the rest of the salon moving efficiently while being gracious to clients coming and going. She's done a great job of teaching the other receptionists the fine art of multi-tasking. Jeffrey is a true artist and knows how to perfectly frame each person's face with a superb haircut! I have had people stop me in shops and on the street to ask me where I get my hair cut. It's a compliment to me but even more so to my stylist! I've referred lots of women in Chicago, in my home town, and even on trips to other cities around the world to Marianne Strokirk Salon on Oak Street.

I am very picky about who cuts my hair. I only get it cut 3 times/year and for the amount of money I am willing to spend, it has to be great cut. I have been coming here to see Anthony for over 6 years and have only had positive experiences. I have found most high end salons to be cold and pretentious. Here they are down-to-earth friendly. I am comfortable showing up in my work-out clothes with no make-up. I am never rushed nor do I feel the need to carry on conversation about meaningless topics or gossip. They always run on time and I always get a great cut.

Went on several friends' recommendations, for a haircut with Bonnie. She is an amazing stylist - efficient, knows what she's doing. I'd always had problems with the volume of my hair and would ask different stylists to ""make it lighter"" but no one really got it except for Bonnie! I would definitely go back for HER but the salon overall is just, so, Oak Street. I don't think it's outdated or anything, but the clientele, the attitude, is what you expect from the neighborhood I guess. But the receptionists were friendly and absolutely professional. I've been to many salons in the city and in the end, it's not the atmosphere, the friendliness, don't you think? - it's the technique of the stylist you're paying for. And Bonnie is worth it.

My hair was ruined by another high end salon. Word on the street was that Marianne Strokirk Salon is the place to go for color correction. Thank the Lord for these miracle workers. I had a special occasion and my hair was destroyed. Meagan was able to save the day and fix my hair. The salon is pricey so I wasn't sure if I could afford to go back, but I did, and I'm glad I did. Meagan was able to put highlights in my hair and make my hair shine with a color glaze. These gals know what they are doing.

When you think that you are going to a high end salon that you would be paying high end prices you would THINK the salon would at least look updated, and the customer service would be up to par. I was recomended to see Jeffery, he was great loved the haircut. Experienced awkward situation with arguing between colorist vrs. stylist that made the enviorment uncomfrotable and put lot of tension in the room. The staff was inconsiderate.

I had a really positive experience at this great little salon on Oak street. The staff was busy and attentive, and aside from it being a little out-dated, it was very clean. Now, I've had a couple of bad color jobs and quite frankly, had no idea what to ask for to fix things. I was recomended to a young lady named Meagan who not only listened but gave me the best hair color I have ever had. I get so many compliments on it!

I recently went to marianne strokirk and received the best haircut I have ever had! I was referred to the stylist (Bonnie) from a friend. I had no idea my hair could look so good!! I always thought I just had bad hair but really all I needed was a great cut. Worth every penny!!
After visitng several gold coast salons and being unhappy, I decided to find someone on the street with great hair and ask where they went. That Is how I came to find Margaret (colorist) and Fantshia (stylist). They took the time to listen to all my complaints about my hair and help figure out a solution. My hair has never been in better condition and now I am the one stopped on the street!!!!
