Complete Lack Of Service and Pizza

I visited the Gold Coast Malnati's today, and it was absolutely horrendous from start to finish. If this is how they run a business, I am surprised they are still in business. And given it?s their largest store, it is going to have wide repercussions. First, we are told that our thin crust pizza (which normally takes 10-12 minutes everywhere else) would take 30-35 minutes, fine; I understand oven space has to reflect the deep dish pizzas, too. After 40+ minutes, we are told our pizza was dropped on the floor, and it would take 12 minutes to get us a replacement. After 25 minutes, we are told it is just 2 more minutes. After another 15 minutes, we still see nothing. Nothing as in every staff person in the entire restaurant avoided making contact with our table. So it was impossible to ask for the manager. Not that I should have to ask, but the manager is absolutely nowhere to be found. Clearly, I should not use the term manager, since there was a complete lack of management if no one is doing it. And the store was NOT busy. Front room facing street of 6 or so tables are full, but main dining room is 1/3 full when we arrived. Rest of the place is empty. And after first pizza is allegedly dropped, several tables are seated, and they all order deep dish pizzas AND all get them before us. In fact, one of them was already checking out. That is beyond absurd. Someone should show termination papers to the (alleged) manager on Mondays and disciplinary action for the staff for complete avoidance of our table. After all, the Monday staff does not work just Mondays, right?!?!?

Best pizza in town!

Right when i walked into the restaurant I had a feeling I was going to have a enjoyable dinner. Their pizza is so good that I ate every last piece of it!

Not the best

Ordered carry out deep dish pizza and a blackened shrimp salad here and was kind of disappointed.. The deep dish sausage pizza did not have much sausage on it and the crust was too greasy. Lou Malnati's is a better bet for deep dish.

The blackened shrimp salad was doused in honey mustard vinaigrette, making the lettuce and pizza crouton strips all soggy. The pizza crisps tasted so bad soggy that I had to pick them out individually. The honey mustard did not seem to go with the spicy cajun flavor of the shrimp. Oh, and on the menu it said there would be artichoke hearts....but nary one was to be found.

BEST Bushetta in town

I found this place due to my work.

We have all our business lunch meetings at Connie?s and I tell you they have the BEST Bushetta Roma.

I also can recommend the spinach dip, Linguine with Vodka Sauce and Grilled Shrimp.

We order at least once a week from them
(make sure to pick it up since the delivery charge is quit high)
At the pick up window you will find the sweetest Lady and she always greed?s you with a smile.

I recommend checking them out for yourself!!!

Worth the Wait!

Connie's is one of the best in chicago for pizza. It is so good...you can order it deep dish, thin crust, it doesn't matter and though the wait may be long, the food comes out fresh, warm and ready to be devoured. The chicken tenders and fries are also highly recommended.

Avoid every night/day! Connie's pizza is garbage

Connie's pizza is just terrible! I moved to chicago for a job, and then moved away after eating Connie's pizza! Please do not eat here, i would rather go to Long Johns Silver's and have them attempt to make a pizza... Connie really needs a new recipe! This pizza made me tear up after eating... and the wings??? NO
NOT GOOD.... taste's like the special Education class made it... just terrible

Chicago South Side Pizza, HERE IT IS!

Why this is in the 10th spot on this site I will never know. You cannot compare it to Home Run inn because they are two entirely different pizza's. Connie's is just simply fantastic and I would tell anyone flying in from New York or anywhere else in the country to come here in a heartbeat so they could get a good idea of what Chicago Pizza is all about. Just plain fantasic. Since reviews are opinions I will refrain from sayin Chicago is the Pizza Capital of the Universe like a New yorker would say however I will tell you this when you bite into this baby you will know exactly what I am talking about. Great sauce, great cheese , superior crust.need I say more?

It's gotta be Connies

I moved 1800 miles away from Chicago and yet I still crave Connies. I can't make a trip back without getting my deep dish pan pizza and fried zucchini. I love this place. Put it this way, if I'm willing to wait an hour and a half for a seat, it's gotta be good.

I was not overly impressed with the food here. I have had better pizza elsewhere.
