globe driver told me to "f#©k my sister"

I was verbally assaulted, held against my will and followed as I walked down the street by this ignorant driver who continued shouting at me as I walked. This was not only terrifying but I literally had to walk 10 minutes out of my way so this driver following me didn't see where I worked. The absolute worst experience with a taxi company in all my years in Chicago.... And this is the first time I have ever used globe. Read some of the other reviews on other sites and you will see that these drivers are not only known for driving dangerously, but also know for rudely assaulting customers.

Great customer service

I used a credit card to pay my cab fare and noticed a couple days later that my account had been charged twice. I made one phone call, spoke to an employee and had my account credited on the spot (it will hopefully post within 3-5 business days). This can typically be a strenuous experience and it took a 60-second call to take care of it! Thank you Globe Taxi!

Globe Driver from Hell 3133

Coming back from vacation. 2 am. O'Hare. Took a cab to go home to River Forest. Globe Cab, number 3133. AN ancient (90 years old ?) African American driver
We barely survived the ride which took 45 min on an near empty road for a normal 20 min trip, The guy was going all the time at 20-25 mi/hrs on a 45 mi/hr River Rd. Swiveling all the time between the lanes so that passing cars had to pass via the incoming lane. When finally arrived at destination, it took him 15 (!!!) min to process payment with my credit card because he had no change for a $100 bill. Altogether an extra hour off my family sleep.
People, avoid Globe cab!!! And if forced to take one look out for driver 3133!!!

Dangerous Globe Taxi driver #1848

While driving on 7/7/10, Globe driver #1848 tried to force me over so he could get in front of me. There was nobody behind me. I kept blowing my horn and he kept trying to force me over, getting dangerously close, crossing into my lane. This lasted about a block before he gave up and drove off.

This driver shouldn't be allowed to have a license at all, but especially should not be driving a cab.

Horrible Taxi Driver

I took a cab ride from Chicago & Western to Glenview on New Year's Eve and the cab driver told me that the charge would be $53. I agreed to that and proceeded to go home. Half way home, the driver turned off his meter. When he got off the highway he turned it back on. Meanwhile the whole ride he kept saying that I should "take care of him for the ride." The meter read $14.52 when he dropped me off. He proceeded to tell me that I must pay him $100 for the ride. I got ripped off and paid double. The police were called because I refused to pay such an outrageous amount. I ended up paying him $80 for something that should have cost me $50. I got harassed and ripped off! When I called to speak to the supervisor they did not offer adequate customer service. They did not want to refund me for the amount that I over paid, and the dispatcher was very rude! I am not calling Globe Taxi Association as a second means of transportation, nor am I getting into a cab with Ali Mubasnir. He is a scammer that is just looking to rip you off! He is also extremely rude, and the whole ride he said that I should tip him well because it was New Years Eve.

The customer service for Globe Taxi is the worst. Apparently no one informed them that the customer is always right in America. In the world of Globe Taxi the cab driver is always right. I have been calling Globe Taxi for the past week and have been speaking to a number of different people that have all been giving me false information. One supervisor, Arun told me that he could not refund me the money because the cab drivers call in all credit cards to private vendors and he simply can't even see the transaction. A couple days later on my debit card transaction list it stated: $80.00 deducted from Globe Taxi Association. Seeing this, I proceeded to call back and speak to someone else, Annil, another supervisor. Annil did not help me with anything and basically told me to f*ck off. He was extremely rude and kept saying he cannot take sides, even though the whole time he was supporting the side of his cab driver Ali Mubashir cab #35. When I called Globe Taxi the first time to issue a complaint against Ali Mubashir cab #35, Arun told me he would suspend Ali for three days, this did not happen. When I asked Annil if Ali was suspended, he told me "no." Don't even try to call customer service and demand a refund, they will just simply tell you off and take the side of their cab drivers, even though according to them, they are not their employees; they are merely private drivers that they hire.

GLOBE TAXI ASSOCIATION IS RUNNING A SCHEME AMONGST THEMSELVES AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT. If you don't want to get ripped off for your taxi ride, DON'T EVER take GLOBE TAXI, THEY SUCK!!!

Surprising, helpful, charitable driver #1067 for Globe..

On 10 July 2009, 2:13PM, I was having a coffee outside the Starbucks at Division and Dearborn in Chicago. An elderly man was bringing out a distraught, ancient, mother, to take her to her doctor. While he and she were on the corner, there were at least 24 cabs, empty, of most Chicago medallion holding companies who slowed, looked and moved on. Globe Taxi Assn Cab #1067 stopped, allowed a passerby to pickup the old woman put her in the back seat, fold and load the chair in the trunk. In the mean time, the elderly son took his coffee mug back in his building while the passerby and cab driver waited with the distraught woman. This took about 15 minutes. While watching I offered the cab driver $20 for his kindness in helping; he would have none of it. He said, ""Her safety is what matters to me.""
It took a second passerby to help settle the two in the taxi before the driver could move on.
Both, in the face of two dozen cabs not wishing to help that distraught 95 year old woman, that this driver did help, he was patient and kind I would like to give praise, somewhere for this charitable act.

1821 day driver is a theif!!

This man be stealing from customers. I gave him a twenty dollar bill and he gave me change for a ten dollar bill and that was only the first time. The second time I gave him a ten dollar bill and he gave me change for a five dollar bill. He is a scam artist. I only see him work during the day. His car smells like urine too. He told me he is from Ghana Africa and you would think he would not steal from me cause I be black too!
1821 day driver is all I know. Take him at your own risk.
I am afraid of him.

Drivers will run you over!

I was crossing at an intersection near Northwestern Hospital. I had the light, the cab driver not only came at me, she sped up! If I had not run out of the way, she would have run over me. She was on her cell and as she drove past me she just stared at me as if I did something wrong.
Cab #1585. UNBELIEVEABLE!!! This is why I'd rather walk than take a cab. They are rude and ignorant people (yes I am classifying) and I am sick of their ""we don't get paid enough"" attitude. Try earning respect and the city will give you what you want.
I hope if one person reads this and does not get in this cab # or go with this company, it will be one less person getting with horrible customer service.

Violent drivers

The driver refused to drop me off at my location in Hyde Park - I guess he thought one of the million-dollar home owners was going to rob him...He wanted to drop me off 1/2 a mile from my destination, when I was carrying a Christmas basket and wearing high-heel shoes (coming from a holiday party). I told him I won't pay him unless he dropped me off at my home, and he trapped me in the cab and called the cops. The cops eventually showed up and told him to drop me off where I needed to go, with them escorting. What a loser!! Never again will I use this awful, horrid company!!

Rude, Crude and Dishonest.

I know that drivers who wait for hours at O'Hare aren't thrilled with picking up a $20 fare, but I was treated to foul (f-word brand) language and a big fat lie about not accepting credit cards (eventually removed his newspaper from on top of his card reader!). If drivers do not want to accept local fares they should post a sign in their windows saying so. I always tip well and never have more than 1 piece of luggage. This guy threw my bag in his trunk and look almost disappointed that it didn't break open or get damaged.

Funny thing was I told him he was going to get a $9 tip if he would just stop complaining. AND HE DIDN'T!! He also didn't get out of the cab to help with me my bag.

Luckily for him (and his other Globe pals), I will never get into another Globe Taxi again ANYWHERE! Too bad, I usually require a cab 2-3 times a month at O'hare and I always tip up to $30 from the $20 and change fare.

I think: If you don't like driving a cab, then get a different job! Don't take it out on paying/tipping customers.
