          In the early 20th century when the fishing industry was booming in the Great Lakes, fishermen would return from the rough waters of Lake Michigan to port and filet their daily catch to sell. The scraps of fish left behind were promptly doused in batter and fried in hot grease for the hungry fishermen to enjoy. This tradition was the inspiration behind one of our original menu items, Fish Chips, chunks of lightly battered Icelandic Cod that we toss in breadcrumbs and deep fry on the spot. French Fries are not included nor are they necessary but we do recommend some of our Tartar or Cocktail sauce to go with it.

        The telephone number for The Fish Keg is (773) 262 6603, not the one listed on the page. Also they are open til midnight on Mon-Thur. and Sunday, not noon. With those things cleared up all I have to say about The Fish Keg is Best Fried Seafood in the City!
