Cupcakes donated to an event that I attended. The cupcakes looked really good. That is where it ended. I couldnt wait to try one. When I did, I was so disappointed. The cake was dry and the frosting was absolutely awful, no flavor at all and left a really weird after taste. Not worth the price that I hear that they charge.

When I finally found parking and entered this adorable little shop I was a little disapointed to see that for $3 a pop, these cupcakes were on the smaller side, but nonetheless I was not going to leave with trying at least 3 different flavors. The first one I tried was the Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting, I must admit that it was a beautiful looking cupcake and that was all it had to offer, good looks. I'm huge fan of this southern classic, but I was dissapointed in the flavor and even more so that it was dry. I hate to say the only thing that I liked was the cream cheese frosting. Next, I tried the Vanilla with buttercream frosting, once again the frosting was amazing, not too sweet, it was so smooth and buttery, just delicious, other than that nothing outstanding about the subtle vanilla flavor. The cupcake crumbled it was so dry. The last flavor I tried was the one that made me drive all the way from Jefferson Park out to this part of town..Mexican hot Chocolate... It was a spicy chocolate cupcake, the flavor was the best of the three that I tried but it was also the driest, I had to chug a bottle of water, just to get it down. It sounded so amazing...When I put that cupcake in my mouth I was expecting fireworks...but no! I was expecting the city's best cupcakes, instead what I got was and over priced, small and very dry cupcake. Needless to say I will not be returning to this little shop no matter how cute it is or how good the frosting is.

VISITED THIS BAKERY AFTER WATCHING 190NORTH LAST YEAR ON HOW GREAT THIS PLACE WAS. SADLY I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. AFTER TRAVELING A GREAT DISTANCE FROM THE WESTERN SUBURBS TO THE NORTH SIDE I DID GET A LITTLE LOST. WHEN I PHONE THE BAKERY TO CONFIRM THE LOCATION THE GENTLEMAN I SPOKE TO WAS NICE . HOWEVER ONCE IN THE BAKERY THE SAME GENTLEMAN WASN'T WARM OR WELCOMING. I WAS CONSIDERING ORDERING SEVERAL CUPCAKES FOR MY DAUGHTERS 7TH B-DAY, BUT QUICKLY CHANGED MY MIND AFTER MY COLD/UNFRIENDLY STORE EXPERIENCE. AFTER I GOT A LITTLE INFO ON PRICING I BOUGHT A COUPLE OF CUPCAKES TO TRY. THE CUPCAKES WERE JUST O.K. UPON LEAVING WHEN I ASKED FOR A BUSINESS CARD I WAS TOLD "" OBVIOUSLY ALL THE INFO YOU NEED IS ON THE STICKER PLACED ON THE CUPCAKE PLASTIC CONTAINER"". I GUESS THE BUSINESS CARDS HERE ARE MADE OF GOLD SINCE ASKING FOR ONE IS LIKE PULLING OUT TEETH. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
this place is awesome! they have 150 flavors. they sweeten there buttercream frosting with imported belgium chocolate and use vanilla bean instead of extracts! the nice girl behind the counter took a lot of time telling all of this. i want to live there!! i wonder if they will adopt me.

The cupcakes here are dry, the icing is oily, and all the flavors taste the same. And at $3 each, I'm kind of insulted that I didn't get the fireworks one would expect from such an outrageous price. They're very pretty cakes, but please work on everything else about them!

For the money, it is not worth it. at $3 a cupcake, which they are all different sizes, its just not worth it. The flavors are bland and the cupcakes are dry. If you are going to have a place called cupcakes, they better be the best cupcakes around. There are much better places to go in Chicago.
