This place is fantastic!! I got my septum pierced here about a couple weeks ago and everyone there was so nice and very professional! My piercer was Rudy. Super nice dude & since getting a septum piercing is kind of unique..I mean it's not like it's an ear or something, I say he definitely did a good job. I have a small septum, so that made things a bit more challeging; but Rudy kept me calm & kept me laughing the entire time. He answered all of my questions and told me to keep in contact with him and/or come back if I ever needed anything. The store offers quality jewelry and the woman who checked me out knew what she was talking about and gave me some great tips on aftercare. My piercing healed up quite nicely by the way.
I would HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE! Definitely the place to go to if you want quality and friendly people.
S.N. I went there today to get the balls taken off of my septum jewelry and was greeted quickly and service was cheap and easy. I walked away feeling real good. Oh yeah. ;)

Not your typcial place. The music was at a great volume, and it wasn't death metal. Not that I don't like that music, but sometimes you want to relax when having ink done. Mike Dalton finished out a tat I had started some time ago, and did some lettering for me. Very quick, and more importantly, almost painless. A good sign of a tattoo artist is not only the artistic side, but the ability to know how deep and hard to push the needle, and he did a great job. I recommend them.

The communication in this tattoo shop is awful. I stopped by to make an appointment on a Friday afternoon, looked at some portfolios, and decided on Josh. He was tattooing some one else at the time, so the receptionist took my name, phone number, and the pictures I had brought in. She told me she'd have him contact me to make an appointment. After waiting nearly a week (Thursday) I gave the place a call. The guy who answered apologized and told me he'd give Josh the message. I did receive a voice mail while I was in a class the same day from Josh and called back not an hour later. The same receptionist from before answered the phone and took my information again and said she would have him contact me. I called again later, and this time the receptionist was impatient and short with me. She again said she would have him contact me, but I have not received any kind of phone call directly from Josh or from the tattoo shop. It has been two weeks since I first went in and I did not even succeed in making an appointment. I did end up going to Taylor St Tatto, made an appointment the same day I came in, and was able to start my tattoo today. Great job on Taylor St.'s part. Chicago tattoo co., on the other hand, did not take communication with their client seriously and did not give me the impression that they had any sense of urgency when it came to getting an appointment scheduled.

I went here to get my first tattoo after reading the reviews on this site and was incredibly pleased with the results. The receptionist and artists were very helpful when talking to me about the design of my tattoo, the facilities were clean and well-maintained, and I only had about an hour wait before we got started even though it was moderately busy. The artist who worked with me was knowledgeable and informative about the process and what to expect. I went back a week later, this time on a Sunday afternoon, for the second tattoo I wanted, and this time the only wait was for the preparation and stenciling of the design. The design, which I had drawn myself, was much more complicated than the first, and the artist (the same gentleman I had the first time) was able to recreated it perfectly. While I wasn't sure what to expect as far as prices went, it seemed reasonable to me, especially considering the great service I received. From my own experience and my observation of the staff and other customers, it seems like the staff is genuinely concerned with the well-being of their customers and are will talk to you about what will work for you and how to properly care for your tattoo or piercing. I would highly recommend the Chicago Tattooing Company, especially to anyone who, like me, is new to tattoos!

I went to the Chicago Tattooing Company for my second tattoo after spending way too much on a small, run-of-the-mill tattoo at the Tattoo Factory. I was beyond pleased with how friendly and helpful both the receptionist and tattoo artist were. I explained what I wanted and the receptionist drew it perfectly for me. This tattoo was larger, more complicated, and more colorful than my first tattoo but cost significantly less. The store was clean, well-lit, and attracted all different types of clients. Highly recommended.

For someone who has only two tattoos, I had a lovely experience at Chicago Tattooing Company. The receptionist didn't treat me with condescension, the artist gave me a break with the price, and in general I experienced nothing but respect. Plan to go back there to get a piercing.

Their slogan ""The Oldest and The Finest"". I have two tattoos and was venturing for my third. I have a good idea on what I wanted but always like to view the walls to check it out. While the staff seemed grossly uninterested in my money (threre were4 others waiting to get tats) this was okay with me. However once I approached the receptionist and stood for at least five minutes I finally get a rude can I help you. IN the most unsurly tone I can imagine she asked what I wanted did I have a picture of it...then she turns to ask the artist if he could do what I asked where I had asked for it..with out even looking at it he said NO it would have to be bigger (more monay for him..) the receptionis then informed me I should think about it and there was a 2 hour wait anyways to come back later. I habe never felt such a negatice attitude in a tatoo /or piercing place and won't ever recommend this place. And if you read this and still consider going think about this...they have a 50 minimum for any piece no matter how simple...I can go elsewhere thank you
