CLIP JOINT!

Parts dept. run by an infantile, imbecelic, foul-mouthed thug with no sense of customer service. Won't accept returns of new, unused merchandise with valid receipt. STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY! GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD

This is absolutely the worst service and all-around terrible experience I have EVER had ANYWHERE. The people who work at CHAMPION CYCLE are rude, confrontational, and extremely dishonest. They are every bad stereotype you have about seedy scam-artist automotive repairs. They took 2 months to replace a break handle on my motorcycle (although they told me repeatedly that it would be done by the end of the day). By the time the cold weather came, they finally got around to fixing it and told me if I didn't come in right away to get it, they would charge me storage. When I went to pick it up (in a cab), it wouldn't start. Then these thugs had the audacity to accuse me of bringing them a bike that never started to begin with and they said it would need additional service at additional costs at ANOTHER LATER DATE. Keep in mind, I rode this bike every day before I brought it in. They left it sitting outside for two months and I'M TO BLAME?!?!

When I asked to speak to a manager, the guy said he was the manager. When I asked to speak to the owner, he said the owner wasn't there and he had no idea when he comes in. Then I got to walk home during rush hour with no alternative or solution or apology.

THESE PEOPLE ARE DESPICABLE HUMAN BEINGS. THEY GIVE CHICAGO A BAD NAME. If you decide to bring your bike here, be ready for a long, helpless struggle that will end with you ready to wage a campaign against the world and every smarmy mechanic in it.

Maybe ok, for an oil change.

I bought a used bike here a few months ago. While their used bike prices are much better than the used bike prices at Chicago Cycle, the great ""pre-sale inspection"" they'll tell you about doesn't really happen. I took it back a day after picking it up because the battery was in such horrible condition, and again later for a non-functional headlamp switch, which technically made the bike illegal. When they replaced the battery, they ran the battery vent tube straight down into the pipes, and it had melted before i even got the bike home. I also had serious arguments with service guys about whether or not it is normal for parts to just be dangling off the bike, unattached to anything. I got the sense that they were trying to keep the bike in the shop as long as possible to run my warranty out. They did replace the battery for free, but they should also have done all the other work for free since it all should have come up in their ""pre-sale inspection."" Worst thing: they flat out lied to me and said they'd done an oil change. Well, I took an oil change class yesterday, and that bike's oil had NEVER been changed. It was BLACK BLACK BLACK, and the filter was the dirtiest oil filter I'd ever seen in my life. Thank God I didn't take their word for it. It's a good bike and I love it, but I will NEVER take it back there for service, and would never recommend doing so to anyone, nor would I recommend buying a used bike there unless you want to ride the service department's tail about doing what they're supposed to do.

The parts department is ok though.
