YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Don Juan Restaurante

Taste The Difference

For those Chicagoans who think that all Mexican food is basically the same: YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO DON JUAN'S !! As a native of Glencoe who has travelled throughout Mexico on several occassions and who has been practicing law in Southern California for over 25 years, I promise that you will find the food here to be of exceptional quality and rare variety, with service that is family-friendly and knowledgeable. I have a very busy schedule, and I hate to waste time, so I wouldn't bother to write this review if I didn't passionately believe in what I say. One of the best features of the restaurant is that it caters to all palates, including the simple desires of children. You can get tacos (including vennison tacos for the discerning patron), enchiladas(including mole, which are fabulous) and a variety of tamales-all of which are decidedly superior to any I've had either in Chicago or Southern Callifornia (where the competition amongst Mexican restaurants is intense)-or you can "kick it up a notch" with a superlative chicken mole, where the chicken is (God forbid) never overcooked but always succulent ! The steak cubes simmered in a complex red ancho-chili sauce are so tender and the flavor is sublime, and the other beef and poultry dishes are of equal stature. Moreover, the seafood creations are both inventive and feature something still not tasted very often in Chicago: very fresh ocean seafood ! The appetizers range from deliscious clams and shrimp to traditional guacamole, and having lived for decades in the midst of the nation's avocado groves, I assure you that Don Juan procures only the pick of the harvest and knows how to let the rich and nutty flavor of the premium avocados speak for itself, eschewing the habit of other restaurants who have to use spices and hot sauces to mask the mediocrity of their dishes. The desserts are equally interesting and tasty, and the variety of tequilas, and availability of top-grade mescal, might lead you to drift off and believe that you're in a bar in Oaxaca or Vera Cruz rather than Edison Park. The prices are quite reasonable, ranging from rather inexpensive for the top-grade popular fare to higher for the beef and seafood, though still decidedly less than you'd pay for inferior quality dishes of similar ilk at a fancier place. I know many colleagues from Los Angeles who fly through O'Hare on business trips and actually hope they have a layover long enough to allow them to take a taxi to Don Juan for lunch or dinner, so the place is rapidly gaining a national exposure, and for good reason. Chicagoans: It is long past time for your taste buds to tell you what so many of us already know, which is something you will know forever when you walk out of the restaurant with a satisfied stomach and a big smile on your face: "Mexican" food and "fine dining" co-exist in perfect harmony in Edison Park- at Don Juan Restaurant !

Tecalitlan Restaurant

This place is the Best!

It has now been two years since my love affair with Tecalitlan began. I moved to Chicago from San Francisco and was new to the area and so one day I went to explore my new hood. I walked by this building and saw a lot of people going and coming. I looked up to see that it was a Mexican food resturant, only my favorite type of food in the world! I walked in not knowing what to expect and was pleasently surprised by the decor and the homey feel to it. I was greated and seated in the front room with the spectacular ceiling that I want in my apartment!! I ordered the veggie burrito with cauliflower and broccoli and was hooked. The chips and salsa are amaizing and once you start munching away there is no stopping until you reach the bottom of the basket. I come from California and I have never had better mexican food than Tecalitlan. Sorry Tia Margarita's Mexican Restaurant you are still my favorite when I'm in town, but my new favorite all around and the new standard which I hold all other Mexican restaurants is Tecalitlan. I love it here! I have never been dissapointed and hope I will never be. There was only once time where I ate fast and got out as quick as I could. I sat at the bar to have a lunch special with a margarita on a wednesday. The whole time I was there, this really anoying customer could not keep his mouth shut. He was butting into everyone's conversations and almost screaming from one side of the bar to the other to get the end people to notice him. You could tell he was getting on everyone's nerves, even the bar tender. I guess he is a regular there because I have seen him a few times at the bar when I go, but had no idea how unpleasent he was. Never again will I sit at the bar if he is there! Oh well, it's not the resturants fault, there are always anoying peole everywhere! Go to Tecalitlan and enjoy the food, drinks and the atmosphere, its worth the money you spend!

GREAT PLACE FOR FUN!!!!!

My husband and I have been going to Cesars Restuarant for at least 10 years. The place is casual and with very good wait staff, they are very warm and welcoming. We personally have gotten to know Cesar, the owner. He comes out of the kitchen and welcomes and thanks his customers. They have a varity of music that they play, and if you are a sport fan, they have two or more big screen t.v.s. My favorite is the mini burritto's. My husband likes the huge regular burritto's. The complimentory chips and salsa is out of this world, they make their own homemade salsa and fry their own chips ( they are still warm when they come to the table). My friends have had there fajitas, the portions are so big ,you can share with someone or bring a very big appitite. They also have great soup and even a mexican pizza that is to die for!!!! The beef they cook is on an open flame and it is fabulous. Let's not forget what they are famous for....... The Killer Margaritas. They come in all flavors and frozen or on the rocks, what ever your fancy is. They have great views from their window seats, if you are a people watcher. I can't say enough good about this place, I go every chance I get. Try for yourself....you won't be dissappointed. Just a little warning..... they are very popular on the weekends. 4 Hermanos Love it

I have been going to 4 Hermanos ever since they opened about 8 years ago, and I have always been very satisfied with the service and most important the quality of the food, and portion size have always been exellent. The pricing same thing very reasonable. I have been to more expensive places and have been shocked by the total cost of a Taco dinner and drink, sometimes $30 to $40 per person, the food barely OK. and havng to pay extra for jalapeno peppers or chips. I highly recommend 4 Hermanos to all mexican food lovers. What you will find here is authentic mexican cooking, affordable prices, and and friedly service by the owners and the staff, one of my favorites is the Tampiquena steak dinner, or Sopes. my wife prefers the Chilaquiles with steak, these tortilla chips that have been prepared with red or gren sauce tooped with chihuahua cheese and and piece of grilled steak, their rice and beans are my daugthter favorite, and my son just loves their burritos, I think I'll go there today. If you want want flash and have extra cash this may not be for you. I you really love good mexican food try 4 Hermanos, I guarantee you will come back many more times.

Beware!! Hustlers!!

I went for dinner with my family a Saturday night. The staff was super friendly, pretty clean place and the food was decent. Like I said, the waiter was very nice but before we were able to sit, he immediately started pushing all these drinks and the most expensive dishes. We let him go in his rant and asked for coke. He offered to bring out some "extras" and proceeded to ask if we wanted guacamole. My brother in law accepted. We later found it it cost us about $8. Since a couple of people were having coke, he brought out a pitcher. He was very eager to pour the entire pitcher quickly and once it was empty, he immediately brought out another one. We were garages for both pitchers (no free refill). We ate and proceeded to pay. One of my cousin payed with cash and on the receipt (which the water saw) he asked for the change. The waiter tried to keep the change as additional tip and only returned because we asked for it. Decent food, but not worth all that.

Great Mexican Food

I have heard great things about the food here so i decided to visit El Tarasco last week. I have to say that the food is great. It has so much flavor its unbelievable. I had a molcajeteada Especial and it was the best. My friends and I had some Pinas Coladas and Margaritas and they were sooo good and at very reasonable price. I would recomend this restaurant to anyone and i have. AS for the service it was good we didn't have no problem at all. As for the comment left well i used my credit card and well i did see that i was charged a percentage more but if you are an a occasional diner well most of the restaurants do that to verify funds. So to me it was nothing new and they didn't rob me of anything and i think that the food was cheaper than other restaurants. I would really recomend this place its always nice to visit diffrent restaurants.

Moe's Cantina River North
Veda M. rated

That guac! My god, that guac. I'm always impressed when a space impresses, and Moe's Cantina is gigantic, beautiful and comfortable. It's got a Mexican-border feel to it, with epic southern art everywhere. And I mean everywhere. This spot keeps going and I saw tables for two to 15 people. If you need to sit and want to eat, I imagine this place will do it for you, even when it gets busy. Now, I was there only for lunch, so cannot talk about the nighttime activities, but I loved what I saw. Classic menu of Mexican eats, including damn delicious guac and chips (do not miss the guac) and a lobster roll with a serious kick. Damn. Service was good and we were checked on often and I left away feeling full and very happy. If you're in the River North area, it's a solid spot to check out.

Hidden Authentic Mexican Comfort Food

This gem hidden across the street from the Police Station on Lincoln is one of the best family comfort food restaurants I've been too. I'm afraid my tastes in Mexican fare are pretty pedestrian, but that's what they do best. Out of this world ground beef (picadillo) tacos made to order, phenomenal enchiladas, great burritos and salsa that is just spicy hot enough to make it real. They also have various beers and drinks at very reasonable prices especially for the ever -increasing-in-price Lincoln Square area. Three more reasons to go are that it's rarely busy, the service actually comes with a smile, and it is kept very clean. These are some friendly people, I hope they do well! I'd live at this place if they...

I'd live at this place if they'd let me. (Also if it weren't bizarre to have some random white girl sitting at a table 24/7.) They have an extensive menu of tortas- like, dozens upon dozens of them, all named after soccer (futbol) stuff. Every single thing we've ever ordered there had been delicious. Although, to be fair, I've only ever tried stuff of of other people's plate. My one true love is the Taco Pionero, an amalgamation of every meat, every cheese, and every add-in you can imagine (like cactus. Cactus!) Served with warm tortillas and a horchata big enough to serve a family of four, it's divine. Plus, my two year-old loves their ham and cheese quesadilla appetizer. And at 2 bucks a pop, that's a cheap date.
