Tried to get a car on the Thursday before the memorial day holiday, Spoke to someone who told me I had a reservation and even gave me a pick up time. A few ,minutes later someone called and said they didn't have any cars available and weren't going to get any. They didn't bother to refer to any other enterprise that did have cars and didn't apologize for wasting my time.

This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever experienced not just with uhaul but with any other company. You work in a business that involves you dealing with people who will be stressed out, where is your customer service?I made a reservation at 7 pm, even though online it allowed me to do so, while stating they close at 7 (not my fault, uhaul' fault). I arrived around 6:45 pm and the gentleman who would end up helping me, walks past me (he was already doing something else). By the time he arrives to the counter and I tell him I have a reservation, Paul says I cannot get a rental because the last rental is at 6:45. I asked him why was I able to make a reservation for 7 then and he states it was a computer error and he apologizes. He gives me a customer service number and as I'm calling it, I noticed a number to the general manager, Angelo Day. I call him and tell him what happened, and he asks to speak to Paul, only for Paul to end up doing what he could have done already at 6:45, when I got there. As we are at the register, it conveniently "shuts down" at 7 pm and he calls Angelo back, only for him to tell me to do the 24 hour pickup. After he tells me this, he basically rushes me out because they are closed (pathetic customer service) but also guarantees I will leave there with a truck. I step outside and by the time I'm able to signup, it is past 8 pm (I was not aware nor knew how to sign up forthis new, convenient service), and the keys are NOT in the damn truck. I call customer service and they credit my damn account $50. I go to a different location and get a truck and it is now past 9. By the time I was done, it was around midnight and I am PISSED!Paul, Angelo and Uhaul stole five hours of my damn life that was only suppose to be for two hours, and all I received was $50? I'm suppose to move everyday? This ain't Macy's, where $50 is useable? I don't plan to move again until next year. How can a manager be there to offer "service," but deliberately ignore your calls and doesn't even return them or at least send a text message? It's disgusting and sad. I was already tired from working, hungry, didn't even want to move nor do I like this crap but I don't have a choice. I will never go to this location again and I'm fully expecting uhaul to do something. I want my money to be reimbursed.

If you don't have a credit card stay away. I booked everything online, showed up there for my reservation, and because I didn't have a credit card (bank cards not good enough). So stuck in Chicago with no ride. Have to go pay higher last minute rates with a decent rental company.
Excellent Customer Service! I did my reservation online but called their office to have it modify. The lady who assisted me over the phone was very accommodating. I arrived earlier than what I reserved but the shuttle was there already. When I arrived at their location, everyone was very professional. Ken was the one who assisted me on my reservation and he was great! I reserved a pick up truck and I asked what are the available vehicles available in their lot and when he told me there's a ford edge abailable I asked if I could drive that one instead. He gave me the ford to drive and by the time I got in the car, everything was ready. He warmed it up because it was snowing that time and the car was fully suited up. Best customer experience so far. I will definitely rent and recommend this location!
We rented a car after our flight was cancelled, necessitating the drive from Chicago to New York. We opted in and paid for the EZ pass only to reach our first toll to realize it was not placed in our car. This made for a much longer drive with extended wait times at numerous tolls on the drive to New York.
I rent from this location every week and have been for over a year already. I am a regular customer that spends a lot of money at this location. Every week there are different people working there. There is NO customer loyalty appreciation at this location. The staff always seems disorientated. Just this past Monday I rented a car and the guy at the counter finished up with me and told me to wait and someone will be right with me. Another gentleman used the kiosk to expedite his check out. We both stood outside in the cold waiting for someone to help us. meanwhile inside, there were 6 of these jokers standing around doing absolutely nothing. Yes that's right 6, 2 at the front door, 1 in front of the counter just pacing around, and 3 behind the counter, everyone was just laughing and joking while there were 2 customers waiting out in the cold. Needless to say, this is not a place that they train on good customer service. It has been on a very rare occasion that I can say I have had "good" customer service. I hope something is done to drastically change this location. And I hope you other customers don't get treated like this. Or maybe we can all go down the street to one of the other 4 rental companies???
Everything was great. Attention fantastic. Service great. Only hiccup was waiting for pick up van for 10 minutes. But I'm patient. I realize they'll be coming around. I did see more of the other vans but driver certainly made us laugh giving us guidelines as to tolls etc.
