Apartment Source is a great company to work for. It seems they suffered from a rash of bad reviews from poor management back in 2012, but this is an honest company that is looking out for their tenant's and landlord's best interests.
My property manager Kurt couldn't have been more responsive. Both my washer and dryer quit working late one evening and Kurt had the repairman in my place the next morning and the units were repaired that day. Because of several events, I had to move 8 months before my lease was over. As a result, I contacted Kurt to learn my options. He outlined several of them, so I chose to re let the unit. I paid Kass one month's rent to take care of all the marketing, showings and applications. Within less than a month, they had a new tenant sign to take over in January. I highly recommend renting from Kass!!
Michael Meaden is a fraud. He showed us a condo suggesting it was available to move in March 1st. We applied and paid the application fee. Then 2 days before the end of the month he informed us that the place would not be ready until the 7th of March. Michael later texted us “The condo wouldn’t be ready for at least 2 weeks, Good luck”. He refused to refund the application fees or even communicate effectively with us. We hired a lawyer and reported him to the state board. I won’t stop until I get his license revoked.

Holy River North knowledge. I was specifically looking in River North and found Jon Perlman through a Google search. He found me the perfect condo extremely fast, negotiated the price down, and helped me closed on it in record time. Everyone says buying a home is stressful, well, it sure helps when you never second guess the property your buying. The most amazing thing is, he predicted a double digit rise in the price of the condos in my building, and it happen over the summer. Jon knows value. I'll call ya crazy if you use anyone else.
I can't believe the people on here leaving negative reviews for TMG Management.. on The Apartment Source's page.. These are two separate companies that work together but are run by different people. The Apartment Source is a great company to work for, I have been with them 5+ years. I agree TMG had some issues years ago being understaffed, but it's been under new management for 2 years now, and they've been nothing but wonderful to their tenants. This website needs to separate these reviews into two pages, because they are two companies.
These good reviews are ridiculous. Horrible building managers consistently not being responsive. Either they don't pick up your call, or they say they'd show up at a time and don't!
This company is a COMPLETE SCAM. Wish I could give it 0 or negative stars.PLEASE please read if you are even considering joining the company or doing business with them.The "hiring" process -- They call you, set up and "interview", and once you come in, instead of interviewing you, the creepy tech/HR dude (Dan) basically gives you a whole shpeal on why you should join their company. In other words, scam. Since they have such an insanely high turnaround rate after getting hired, they need to hook more and more people because tons of people quit. I was too young in my professional career to know this yet. Then he continues to tell you how you'll get to show property immediately, get properly trained, etc. Lies. Once you get "hired" you will be asked to do b**** work - go take pics of units and spam every avenue online - craigslist, postlets, etc. Now that would be fine if they explained the process to you, but they don't because they probably know they won't get anyone if they told the truth. No one trains you and to you basically need to fend for yourself. NOW get this! Here is the crazy part! So you get hired and are asked to pay an upfront fee of $200. Their "reasoning" is that this is an attorney fee for liability purposes. Clearly another scam because until you can officially show property (months if not more), there is no form of liability because all they make you do is post pictures online (literally). Here's the best part, they hire like 10 or more people "every round" so your looking at thousands and thousands of dollars this company probably collects a month on just upfront "attorney" fees. Absolute insanity.They are disorganized and half the time when they send you out to take pics of units, they give you the wrong address or there is no lockbox at the unit.They take roughly $20-$60 out of your account every month (can't remember exact number, maybe more) as well. I quit a couple months later and they continued to take money out. When I emailed them, they "apologized" and stopped. I told them they needed to reimburse me for the money they took out when I was no longer employed there. Once against, creepy HR/tech dude Dan said he would and never did. Eventually he stopped replying to my emails. I hate dishonest companies and my hope is this company gets shut down. They are anything but American or professionals, as their name claims. There is nothing more unAmerican than a company exploiting out-of-college kids and taking their hard-earned money and lying to them.
