They did a great job on my antique clock. Accomodating staff and very knowledgeable. Bit on the pricey side, but you get what u pay for. Would recommend then for antique clock and watch repair.
Watch repair and fast battery replacement. Good selection of rare watches, awesome clocks.
Check out the amazing selection of antiques.
Brought in a 50's Omega Automatic to be serviced. They really did an excellent job, the watch keeps good time and cleaned up nicely.
Father Time owner's extensive knowledge of antique and contemporary time pieces is outright impressive, down to every detail of a mechanism, historic or modern. His two repairmen are meticulous - lots of experience and surgical precision. But what I find to be an extra guarantee of the workmanship is the pride they take in their work! The only way they will repair a piece is the right way - no shortcuts, "discount" craftsmanship, material substitutes, or cutting corners. And I know - I had several items fixed at Father Time. So did some of my friends. Read the reviews on Yelp. Father Time's is a highly specialized craft and as soon as you start talking to the people working there, you know they are about expertize and quality.
Great service! They were able to swap out a watch band that I brought in to them in only a few minutes. Would definitely come back for additional services for future watch repairs.
These guys are terrific. I was hesitant to leave my Dad's watch with them for repair until the man behind the counter (the owner I think) explained how painstaking the restoration process is and how they could restore my Dad's watch to like-new functionality. He explained every step of the process and gave us a detailed estimate. They are pricey but I think the money was well-spent once I saw what a great job they did. These guys claim they are the largest in the areas for vintage and antiques watches. Now I know why. When I saw Dad's watch after they completed the job I was very happy and remembered what it had once looked like on his wrist.
I took my Newgate clock to Father Time Antiques today for repair and these gentlemen were AWESOME! They fixed my clock while I waited. Super nice group of profession men! I would highly recommend taking your clock or watch repairs to them! I certainly will in the future! Thanks guys!
I inherited a 19th century pocket watch badly in need of a tune up. Further, the front cover would not clasp shut because the metal had worn down over time. During a brief visit home a few months ago, I swing by FTA to have them look at it.I received a nice tutorial about how pocket watches work and an eyeball estimate of the watch's value. The team explained exactly what needed to be done and why, how it would be done, and when I could expect it. I currently live outside Chicago and FTA assured me it would be sent with the utmost care and arrive to me safely.Five weeks later, the watch arrived safe and sound. It works perfectly, the front lid closes, and the FTA team polished it to a shine it hasn't had in decades. I am very impressed - though not surprised, based on other reviews - with the work and service of the FTA team. This kind of craftsmanship an guarantee of quality work is becoming rare. It's great to know this place still holds up - kind of like their time pieces!
Several years ago, I lost a unique Bulova Accutron Spaceview watch that I had been given as a present by my parents. Jim and Father Time spent almost a year searching for the exact same watch based on nothing more than a small photograph that showed me wearing the watch. Not a lot to go on. But they found one in Florida (if I recall) and offered it to me at a fair price. It was a near duplicate of the one I lost. And it is authentic and complete. They have serviced it faithfully using original parts for almost 15 yrs and have even done some minor repairs at no charge. I have only this experience to go on but I will tell you that Father Time is one of the best retailers I have dealt with and will continue to deal with. They made my day when they found the replacement watch and I intend to be a loyal customer for as long as the watch (or I) keep on ticking!
