I had been coming to Leru for years not consecutive tho I drive from Riverdale,Il all the way out west..I got some invisible micro braids with sew in middle hair also provided by me cost 160 total for hair the hairstyle was 160 so now I've spent 320. I am natural so I knew I would have to flat iron my perimeter. When she got done I loved my hair, but after a week and a half my hair started to come down, unravel, and looked like I had a month worth of new growth in the back. I drove back out here to show her my hair on yesterday. I asked how much to just put micros around my perimeter because my hair was messed up and I was unable to cover up my sew in in the back. She told me don't worry about it and to come back tomorrow. So I am in the shop now...AFTER she took my hair down she talking about another 100 and buy another pack of micro hair to do my perimeter ...I refused to pay that. They decided to do it for 60. When I came back from buying my hair no one would service me...
Rated most unprofessional service and scam. This is for Mary's African Braid Shop located on 79th Jeffrey. I have frequented several times along with friends(2)and we have confirmed that the scam is this: You ask the owner the price of a style, she refers you to another person, this person does your hair then asks for your money, when you pay your oprice they confront you sayng you shorted them money and argue about price to you instaed of the owner. Happens.. Every...time.... Alternative:The owner gives you a price then LATER someone else will say no we really charge xyz amount. When you ask the owner to speak up for you she will not and allows the person (any one fo the ladies) to tell you what you will pay or they wont do it. One woman in particular is NOTORIOUS for trying to make you feel uncomfortable with price. She sits in the last chair to the right when you walk in the shop. The I-team will investigate.
Josephine about the reasonable hair braider ever I love her she hooks a sister up I been coming to her for years
This by far has to be the WORST experience I've ever had with any shop in all of the 11 years I've been getting my hair braided.Unknowing to me the owner called in someone to braid my hair that she later told me was inexperienced, within a week my hair was unraveling at the root. I went in to let her know and she agreed to rebraid what was coming down. She took down the majority of my hair, but instead of giving me Senegalese twist that were the same size as the ones she didn't rebraid she put in twist and parts that were almost 3 times the size of the original twist I paid $200 for, leaving my head a mix moshed mess!!!! How can you not care enough to correctly fix the work that you as a shop botched up from the begining....will never go here again!!!!!
My hair is super short and Mai did an awesome job! She took her time and my hair looks fabulous! I highly recommend this business to anyone! I am very satisfied!
I had a horrible experience at this shop. The braided put glue on my braids 2-3 inches above the ends of my hair. Now that I'm taking the braids out, I have lost tons of hair. NEVER GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOOSE YOUR NATURAL HAIR!
Very unprofessional, I never been in a shop like this before. They are slow and rude. They try to tell you how they going to do your hair and its yoyr money. I went there 3 times only because they open on Sundays inwhich was convient at the time. However, i will never go back there because they did a poor job on my twist.
Horrible, mean and rude staff!
as I am African but didn't try this yet, soon I'll be there.
