Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve—a major motor and sensory nerve that is sometimes referred to as “the eye of the hand”—is compressed at the point where it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, Dr. Levene received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Davis, in Davis, California. After his residency, Dr. Levene underwent a fellowship in sports medicine and knee and shoulder surgery of the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
