My husband and I went up to the vision center at this location today. We didn't realize that the entrance to the center for the eye exam cannot be accessed through the inside of Walmart because inside of Walmart, there is a "vision" center. It's just not the office of the optometrist. It didn't make sense that it appears to be clearly accessible from the inside. In any event, we went outside to access the entrance to the vision center. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist. She told us that the visit would be 79 dollars. After seating ourselves in the waiting area, we began to fill out the paperwork given us. The backside of the second form was for authorization to perform a dilated fundus (pupil dilation to better view the eye) and a VFT (visual field test which helps to detect a myriad of conditions) for an additional $20 and the latter an additional $15. Granted, this is not a great deal of money, but when we inquired at the desk before filling in the forms, we were not told this. I went up to confirm that this was not included and went back to call America's Best to see if their price included these procedures. They did include the dilated fundus, but not the VFT. We took took the clipboard back up to the receptionist and asked if the cost included anything other than the eye exam, such as glasses. She went from being friendly to almost taking it personally as she informed us that we would want to go to America's Best for that and then in a manner that was almost disapproving, she told us "good luck." I thought that she exhibited an attitude that was not professional after our decision not to have the eye exam in contrast to when we arrived. This may not be a big deal to some, but attitude plays a big role in where I will spend my money and with whom I conduct business. I won't return to Walmart Vision in the future. Also, if you need to use the restroom, you will need to exit the center and go back into Walmart to use their restrooms. For anyone that has children with them, this could present an inconvenience.
