We are the luckiest of towns with a historic mainstreet that can keep all of our shopping needs local. Chehalis has Billies sewing center with modern husqvarna/viking machines and sergers and just an interesting inventory of high-end tailoring fabrics down to fun easy kids' project fabrics. Linings, threads, silks, cottons, and wool... just down the street is Sister's Quilt shop and the two will take care of all of your needs... no need to drive to Olympia or Portland... we have it all right here.

When I went into this store, 2 saleswomen were standing and talking at the check-out desk. They didn't even look up when I came in. When I went to ask them where a certain fabric was, the look I got was "you are a pain in my...". They pointed to the wall with many fabrics, and said, "It's near the yellow one." If you've ever gone to a fabric store, you know that there are a LOT of colors all over the place. I stood there, trying to figure it out when, with an eyeroll, one of the clerks finally showed me their selection. Needless to say, I walked out without buying anything. They didn't even look up when I left.
