I am writing this review on behalf of my father, who just turned 88, who asked me to 'spread the word'! Dr. Yablick at the Chattanooga Eye Institute performed cataract surgery on him a few weeks ago, and has given him no less than a miracle. For decades his eyesight has worsened due to macular degeneration. After receiving treatment for that and surgery for cataracts, his vision in the eye that received treatment is almost 20/20!! He is happier than I can remember and is so very thankful for Dr. Yablick and the entire staff at the Chattanooga Eye Institute, and he HIGHLY RECOMMENDS!

The worst service in Chattanooga. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I recommend ANYWHERE else. Incompetent, careless, and rude pretty much sums of my experiences. (2) I will NOT return.
The doctor was great, but the AA lady at the front is killing the business. She is rude and acts like she doesn't want to be there or be bothered. After several trips to get product that was ordered, I decided to just go elsewhere.
The eye exam was very thorough but the service from the rest of the staff was horrendous. My daughter was getting her first pair of glasses. This should be a big deal - this is the potential to gain a life customer. She received no help other than someone bringing her a few pairs from the back when we were struggling to find the right size. We were hoping for suggestions for her face shape and the frame shape and color that would look best. Maybe help us with the different sizes of frames other than pointing to the wall that we can go to? It was a very difficult task to try to walk around the store and find all of the different styles and sizes of frames. We were very lost. Sadly, when we picked up the completed glasses, we received no help with making sure they fit properly and we were not even charged for them. I stood there as long as I could to try to finish the appointment. Instead of making sure we were "checked out" and our visit was complete, the staff member just picked up the phone and started calling other customers to let them know their contacts were in. I guess we were dismissed!I also asked to pick up my contacts that I had ordered a month before. They had no record that I had even been in the store (twice!) for an exam and ordering the contacts. When asked what I should do, I was told that they would "take care of it today" but was not given any direction to call back or if they would be the ones to contact me. I asked twice what should be done and both times did not get an answer to know what to do.So I walked out with glasses that had not been paid for and no contacts that had been ordered in plenty of time to get them back.After an hour on the phone with my insurance company, I learned that the claim had not even been filed for my daughter for her exam and the glasses and my contacts had not been filed either.I now have to go back to the store once again to try to get help fitting my daughter's glasses and hopefully get my contacts ordered. I don't want to go. I have never seen such unprofessional service and incompetence in the 40 years that I have been purchasing glasses and contacts. My husband had warned me after I made the appointment by reminding me of the horrible service that he received years ago. I figured they were just having a bad day and everyone needs a second chance. Right? I will never go back again after we get this situation corrected. I am sad that my 9-year old daughter had such a poor experience with getting her first pair of glasses.
The person at the counter was very loud, rude and arogant. We had an appointment and we were the only client in the store. She decided from the minute we walked in that she did not want to be bothered with a new client and having to verify our insurance (blue cross). After about thirty minutes later we finally left due to such a horrible humiliating experience. We called a competitor close by and they verified insurance over the phone within a couple of minutes and took us right in.
I sincerely want to thank Roger Mayo for the custom contacts he has prepared for me over the last many years - since around the year 1999, I believe. Without his seriously creative skill I honestly do not know how I would have survived. NO ONE wanted to help me after my disastrous eye surgery from Aerosmith Eye Institute in Nashville. Without Roger's help I would have either been unable to see or I would have allowed other eye surgeons to talk me into even more catastrophic surgeries. Frankly, I have never been shy about singing Roger's praises. For 17 years I have literally trusted him with my visual life
They can never call me when I order ANYTHING, contacts or glasses. It a shame I have to guess and call them. At least they don't lose my chart like Eyear Optical does on Shallowford Road.

The Vision Center is great! I got a very good pair of reading glasses which have helped me to read without headaches. Everyone was very helpful. I would recommend the Vision Center at Signal Mountain.
when i went to this walmart i went just for a eye exam for glaases, the eye docter told me it would only cost a little more for a contact exam and that i didnt have to buy any at the moment, that i could order from 1800 contacts. the glasses i got were great and my aunt had extra flex pay that was getting ready to expire and offered to buy my contacts. 1800 eneded up cancelling my order because cause they said my prescription was out of date. knowing that that was untrue i went back to the walmart and was told that because i didn't purchase any contacts at the time of my exam my information was not in the system and that if i wanted to order them from a different site i should have told them. well needless to say her flex pay expired and i ended up losing $400 worth of contacts because of their lack of communication. PISSED!!!!!
