I phoned camping world to make an appointment to meet with the service manager and discuss repairing an electrical problem within my motor home system. I was first told I could not talk to the service manager but I could be connected to a service [rep] . No thank you the service manager please. Phone rings answer"This is the service manager" Hello my name is-------------- and I am calling to set an appointment with you to discuss repairing an electrical problem in my motor home. "I don't make appoints ta talk with people because I might be in the shop when thy come.WHAT I am trying to make an appointment .That occurs when two are more people agree to meet at a designated time at a designated place. The manager stated she would not make an appointment to talk with me . I was trying to give them my business and the service manager refused to make me an appointment to discuss my business. She did say I could bring it in and they would get to it when they could. Wonder How much trouble you would have making an appointment with the service manager if they already had possession of your camper.I cannot believe the arrogance of that service manager and I will NEVER allow them to work on my motor home I hope you never have to address a service problem with that service manager.
I would not recommend buying your camper from here. Robert and Shane helped us purchase our camper. Our camper had 2 issues despite being brand new, one was being a control panel cover had become unglued and the other being a mattress that didn't fit the loft area (despite all of their efforts on trying to smash it down). We agreed to purchase the camper as long as these items were fixed on pick up. Robert and Shane both assured us that this wouldn't be a problem. Neither of these issues were fixed when we arrived to pick up the camper. We live 2 hours away and decided since we had already drove so far to bring it home and they assured us again that the items had been ordered and would be fixed soon. Robert was rude and lied to us a couple of different times when I called them to get an update. (We later found out he was fired, which didn't surprise us) Shane was nicer, but in the end he also did not follow through on his word either. Now Camping World is refusing to even help us on the mattress issue at all. They do not stand by their word, or their products. Take your business elsewhere.
First let me start by saying, if there is anywhere else you can find to deal with buying/repairing an RV, I suggest you go wherever that may be. My camper needed a small repair to two cracks in the front storage. I was first asked if it would be an insurance claim and when I said yes, the employee became very animated and said the crack couldn't possibly be repaired and that the whole front storage would need to be replaced. I was skeptical but am not ank expert repair tech after all and trusted him when he said he'd deal with my insurance company and call me the next day. After leaving my camper at Camping World, I waited 3 days for a call and finally had to call and leave a message. In the meantime, I received a check from the insurance company for $1,865. It seemed a little steep to me but again, I'm not the expert. I finally received a call on the 4th day telling me there was no replacement part and they'd just have to repair the crack (hm. Really). I asked how much and was told $1,100. I was shocked and told them absolutely not and I sincerely hoped there was some mistake. I was told to call back and talk to the manager, Rick Guthrie. When I finally got in touch with him, he seemed belligerent. When I asked him to tell me how repairing two small cracks could reasonably cost $1,100, he sputtered saying, "$1,100? The check was for $1,865 so that's the cost!" I turned the check in to my insurance company and explained the situation, picked up my camper the next day and took it to another company who did a great repair job that cost me $150. Camping World. What a joke. So WHO planned on pocketing the $1,715 of MY premiums??! Does this reek of SCAM to you? I'm sure I wasn't the first and won't be the last.
