There are good people in the world, and Madewell on Barracks Road has employed a few of them! Not only are they all extremely helpful and kind, but they are also honest. I was trying on clothes here and realized a day later that I was missing a diamond earring. I went back more than 24 hours later, and a store employee had found it and put it away for me. She wouldn't take any type of monetary consideration, so I aim to give this store and its employees a raving review on every website I can find!Needless to say, they really do sell the best jeans ever. But if you want customer service about all else, Madewell in the Barracks Road shopping center is the place to go!
Worst experience ever! The lady who bought my items was rude! She was focused more on her phone than dealing with me. She did not go through all my items and instead offered to donate them to the vets. When I asked for a donation slip, she said they ran out and to come back for one. She did not great or say bye. Her facial expressions were quite rude. She wanted to rush me out of the door. I did not wanna take my items back due to a neck injury however I left with $30 for items worth $600. I had my Honda Pilot fully loaded with baby equipments, clothing etc. total rip off! Don't recommend them!
I have, once again, been made to feel invisible in the local store. I am not sure what I may be doing wrong but this happens more often than not when I visit the Barracks Road Store. It is quite a disappointment since I like to shop there for the clothes. I even helped myself to a dressing room today as no one seemed to want to help me. Therefore, I left without purchasing anything and it will be very difficult to return to the store for the same poor customer service that I received today and on previous visits.
The manager at this store was yelling at employees from across the store, seemed to target one particular employee. Manager was very unprofessional and made the experience very awkward because of her terrible attitude. She was not friendly with the customers either. I will not sell to or recommend Kid to Kid if these are the types of people managing the place. Really disappointing. However, I will say that the young lady who was being publicly reprimanded by the manager was extremely friendly and helpful. That awful manager must not like those types of people at this store. By the way it appeared that the two African-American women working there, one being the manager, seemed to single out this one employee, I couldn't help but wonder if the hostility I witnessed was race related as it certainly appeared that way. Very disturbing.
just love heather and love this store.by far the most unique and beautiful women's clothing in Charlottesville, VA.
I would never sell to this location again nor make purchases. Being 6 months pregnant and came in with numerous tubs after calling to see what they were taking I was annoyed with their customer service. No one helped load or unload the items in the rain even though they were not busy. I felt the staff which I believe even included the manager were uppity and that I was wasting their time. No one came across as polite or said thanks for bringing these things in for review after driving almost an hour. They only took a few items out of the numerous tubs that were brought in. I can understand if they were overstocked and did not need things but when a business runs off the reselling of the community's items some manners would have went a long way. I felt the staff were very cold and rude. I will continue to do my business in Richmond.
