Read good reviews about this BBQ joint, and had to try it out. I try to be impartial and not let me personal preferences color my review. But, it just didn't do it for me. The BBQ was "good", but not great. Not enough smoke flavor (if any) and no bark. You know how you go to a BBQ place and it tastes and smells FRESH, as in, they just pulled it off the smoker and pulled it apart within the past hour? Not reheated.. not chopped and shredded and put into a huge bucket then scooped out later? Spoon's tastes like the later.. like maybe it was older BBQ that was heated up. Might not be true, but it's my first impression. I would go back if I were in the area, but not if I felt like BBQ and had other options.
For the restaurant to be fairly new, all the tables were dirty, when asked can someone clean the tables, it became a debate with the 2 workers as to who was to clean them. Also, when I ordered my salad I asked for Mediterranean Dressing & got Honey French instead, when I went back for the correct dressing, I was given Honey French again, even the cashier stated, she ordered the Mediterranean dressing, what is going on? Well at the end I got my dressing & the cashier last three debate with the other worker & had to clean the tables.
I've ate at several chicken king restaurants in the uptown area. This was our first time eating at the south trying location and it was yum yum good! I got the fried chicken sandwich and my fiancé got the jersey hoagie. Both were great. The building used to be a sonic so it's a little lacking in decor appeal, but the awesome friendly staff and great food make up for that! Would def. recommend to friends or anyone who loves chicken!
If you or on Wilkerson blvd. Go to bbq king they have great bbq plates. On sat they have hamburger plate. They have great onion rings. They have great tea. The only thing is the guys who bring your food. Are rude if you don't give a nice tip they still go for more money. If you ask for a another cup of tea they expect a another tip. Or ask for more ketchup.
Every now and then I like to cheat on my diet, so I headed to Popeye’s for lunch. When I arrived it was crowded, but the TEAM held it down! They got all those orders out in a timely matter while keeping the dining area clean and friendly dispositions. To Restaurant #11520, your TEAM is the bomb; keep up the great work, two thumbs up!!
The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is a beautiful building that just oozes with creativity. I always love being in the galleries and just looking at all of the art. I have also performed in the Belk Theater as an ensemble member of The Possibility Project - Charlotte, and it is my favorite theater I`ve ever performed in.
excellent gallery featuring some of the best artist. this is not fast food art, for the discerning eye. I we?nt to see the frequent shows by Charlotte's Ruth Eva Lyons, well worth the time to see her work alone, ask for Rebecca (I think) and get a clinic in art smarts and almost psychic assistance!1
I grew up in Asheville but have been coming to BBQ King since I was a kid - it was always such a treat when we would come to Charlotte to visit. Now that I live in Charlotte I still always enjoy visiting - it's a one of a kind experience and the food is ALWAYS good!
Let me help ya out here if yu never been here ....what a great PLACE !....Luv this place just like we do at the one close to Matthews. Great bar and service and food and the outside deck is one of the best in Charlotte and it sits on the man-made lake. Check it out !!
I have been to this location several times. Each time I have had to go back or if I'm inside I have to remind them about something they forgot. I'm easy so I don't raise a ruckus I just say what it is they forgot and I keep it moving.
