Horrible! My vehicle was misdiagnosed and they refused to refund the $101.89 diagnostic charges. They identified a leak in my thermostat housing as the reason for my vehicle running hot when actually there was a hole in my reservoir tank. The cause was identified through a "pressure test" which Aamco didn't even do! I called and informed "Jon" of this but his response was that I had more than 1 problem. Even if that was the case, why was only 1 problem acknowledged on the estimate??? The proposed repair wouldn't have corrected the issue and I would've left with the same problem that I came in with in the beginning. There is a blatant lack of understanding when it comes to customer satisfaction and acknowledging when a mistake is made. I will never give my money to another Aamco and now my husband will never go back so they've lost 2 customers!

I was told the part for my Volvo was not in until 2:00 p.m...and that it would take 3 hours to install but to call back in an hour and see if it was ready. At 2:45 pm I got a call that the part was installed and the car was being test driven! Now that was a super mechanic with a cape on right there!
I guess the fact that the guy working there after hours lived there and had an ankle bracelet should have been a dead giveaway. Or that the lady on the phone has 0 customer service skills and couldn't remember that I talked to her. Or that my lungs nearly turned black from walking in the place. It was bad enough that they didn't know what was wrong with my car and took 3 days to guess what it was and try to charge $1,000 for it... and then threatened to charge a "storage fee" because I didn't come get my car on day 3. No, it was the missing items in my car, nothing too valuable but that's not the point, and the fact that my car smells like an ash tray. But the manager claims it wasn't them. Then why is it that I've had the car looked at by others and none of them left it like a trash can, used up all of my gas and left kids toys in the backseat along with other trash? And stole my mixed CDs... sheesh! I hope you enjoyed the maxi pads left in that old purse in the trunk... crooks.
Great prices, very professional. I have used him for all my vehicles and will continue to use his services in the future
These guys are crooks should be shut down take your money loose your car for months should be 4 days most never shift right transmission fail in less than 2 months warrant was up 6000 miles for commercial vehicle took it back 3 times never was fix these guys should not be in transmission repair I give them 2 tries completely loss out of my hard earn money please do not be a victim on your case a fool I had no warning but you do avoid larry transmission in charlotte nc
Horrible! They couldn't provide me a fixed price. Started work on the transmission prior to me signing an agreement to proceed. I was promised many phone calls before work was to start to get a fixed price, never got one call. NC law requires a signed agreement for any auto repair exceeding $350. They wouldn't release my van until I signed a predated authorization. I wouldn't recommend this repair shop to anyone.
Transmissions yes, any other repair, NO. Scott kept our car for 8 weeks for a simple repair. He returned it with the same problem, still not repaired and harassed us for payment, although I don't know for what? We had to take the car to another mechanic to actually have it repaired correctly. It only took the other mechanic 3 days. Scott was not honest with us, he was unprofessional and I would not recommend his business to anyone.
I have to write this so no one else gets bad service from this company. first off im a mother of 3 smaller children.I called around to get rice quotes to have my transmission completely redone, sounds simple normally runs about 1300 to 1800 to do. and can take up to 4 days depending on work load any company has.ok well i dropped my 2002 dodge grand caravan to them, they claimed to take it all the way apart and rebuild it in a day then said somethings still wrong so i left it there 3 more days. well finally got my van back and its still the same way it was when i dropped it off, so they kept it 4 more days they said when they took it apart this time they noticed the wires inside were fried, wait what if you took it apart the first time completly then u wouldve noticed my wires needed to be replaced then. they didnt respond. so i picked my van up happy it was over.i was wrong it still did it, they would jump on independence n open her up well if the problem is in 1st gear its not going do it in 2nd or 3rd. so i've dropped it off 4 more times in one month for them to fix it but its still messed up, then they tried to say its my engin mounts ok i bought parts and had hubby fix them. then they tried to say it was fluid and then when i fixed that they have nothing to say besides im sorry we cant figure it out something is wrong w the transmission but were happy to take it apart n try again.what you specialize in transmissions and all you ahd to do was take it apart and clean replace parts n reassemble.well i took it to a real mechanic appearently all they did was take it apart changed wires didnt even take half of it apart never touched the inside to clean or i guess lube it and reassemble it. so please save ur time n money because when i was just there there were 4 other grown men screaming at them because their transmissions werent done right either. so find different place to do it n get it done right, because they wont refund my money so i have proof as to what was fixed n touched n now having to go thru claims court because of them
Honest and very professional. I had the misfortune of have a transmission problem while in Charlotte. Yet, felt lucky to find AAMCO of Charlotte. They determined the problem was very minor, they fixed it quickly, and what I thought would be an expensive, drawn out ordeal was not. Billy was awesome, keeping my informed, and the crew got me back on the road sooner than I had hoped. Thanks for the assist!!
I visited this shop on three separate occasions thinking I had a transmission problem. Yet each time they checked it for free and told me that everything was fine. As a young female they could have easily told me I needed work, and would have paid them to do it. I cannot recommend them more highly.
